"It is now time for me to depart Rajkumari. It was a pleasure for me to grant you knowledge about all the things. Hope we will meet soon"Devarshi Narada said as he got up from the seated position. Rukmini followed his action.
She joining her hands said"This day has been special to me since I got to know a lot of new things. It is my fortune that I could be your student even if it is for this very little time. I hope you'll bless me"
"I pray that you will always be this enthusiastic and will get what you truly desire in your life"Narada said as he kept his hand on Rukmini's head blessing her.
He went out of the room chanting "Narayana Narayana".
Rukmini proceeded to walk to her room. Her mind was filled with a million things.
Narada's words ringed in her ears. The immense sacrifice Vasudeva and Devaki did for the world have touched her heart. She thought about the little Krishna Narada described. She felt sadness cover her mind on the thought that she can't meet with this great personality born to safeguard the world from evil. A deep admiration for Krishna has already born in her heart, unknown to her.
"Karke Yamuna par aaya
Nand ke ghar Gopal
Vrindavana ke hai woh laadla
Kare gopiyon sang woh raas
Chhaya hai keval harimuraliraag
Woh hai Radha ki mann ki haal
Jag jag mein Kan kan mein
Hota hai Krishnamurari ke vaas"
Rukmini's eyes shot up on hearing those words. She looked around and found herself in her room. She turned to around to see Sudhavati, one of her friends, who was also her dasi, cleaning the vase of rose flower kept in her room, immersed in singing the song with a slight smile playing on her lips and oblivious to anything happening around.
Rukmini chuckled on seeing her friend in this state of mind. "Sudha..." She went closer and shaked Sudhavati out of her trance.
"Rajkumari, when did you return?"she said slightly bowing and surprised on the sudden appearance of Rukmini infront of her.
Rukmini chuckled again on Sudhavati's reaction and asked"what were you singing?"
"Oh, it's just a four line song I made on Krishna"
"Krishna? Do you know about Krishna?"
"Yes Rajkumari, my parents used to live in Vrindavana and they migrated to Vidarbha not long ago. So, I'm really familiar with Krishna and his leela."
"Ooh, you are from Vrindavana?"Rukmini asked Sudhavati with an excited smile.
"Yes Rajkumari"
Mayurika joined the little conversation and noticed Rukmini fiddling with the end of the violet clothe wrapped around her shoulders and her face etched with reluctance. Out of all the friends of Rukmini, it was Mayurika who was the most close to her. She has overheard the conversation between Narada and Rukmini and understood whats going on in her sakhi's mind.
"I knew that you're from Vrindavana. But recently I'm hearing a lot about Krishna. Even Devarshi Narada was telling about Krishna to Maharaja. He seems to be an interesting person. Will you tell us about him?" Mayurika said in one breathe side eyeing Rukmini. She encircled her hands on Rukmini's arm.
A bright red color was creeping on to Rukmini's beautiful face making it seem more enchanting than ever. Mayurika teasingly looked at Rukmini making Rukmini realise that her sakhi have discovered her hidden desire.
Rukmini's embarassed expression didn't go unnoticed by Sudhavati and it made her happy.
"It would be my pleasure"she said looking at Rukmini though it was Mayurika who asked.
