As the first ray of dawn pierced the darkness of night, the morning stillness was welcomed by the melodious chirp of a lonely bird. The deep indigo of the vast sky slowly morphed into the delicate pink hue.
Rukmini sat infront of Maa Amba, in the secluded little temple, made up of white granite. Her eyes were closed and her palms were joined in reverance, as she uttered hymns and chants softly. The golden rays gently grazed the mukut of the Goddess, the gemstones embedded on it shining gloriously under the morning warmth.
Opening the doe shaped eyes slowly, Rukmini smiled at her Aaradhya. She gently caressed her six monthed blossoming belly lovingly, with a slight smile.
Keeping the last little blossom at the Goddess's feet, she held her belly securely, proceeding to stand up from the hard stone floor of the temple. Just as she was about to get up, two hard hands grasped her shoulders in firm grip, helping her stand up with ease.
Her eyes widened as she took in the charming smile of her helper. Her already glowing face, radiated even more, like the rising sun in the eastern horizon.
"Swami!"
She took in the transcendent divine form of her lord before rushing into his embrace which enveloped her with his love. A gentle breeze passed by the young couple uniting after months, as Krishna was away from Dwaraka regarding official matters.Planting a soft tender kiss on Rukmini's forehead, Krishna gazed at the red vermillion on the parting of her hair which made him smile. Rukmini nuzzled closer to him, tightening her hold, as she took in his sugandha, which felt like the cozy warmth on a winter night to her.
On that sunny spring evening, Krishna had swept Rukmini off her feet, twirling her around, beneath the large banyan tree, when she disclosed the news about the precious little miracle to come into their marital bliss.
"How I missed you!" Breaking the hug, she gazed lovingly at his face, as he leaned in, connecting his forehead with hers.
The little kick from inside the belly made Rukmini flinch with surprise. Krishna gently lowered himself to his knees and placed his hands over the womb, feeling the gentle stirring of their unborn child. His voice trembled with affection as he greeted his progeny.
The young couple basked under the warmth of parental hopes as they spent time, bathed in the golden light of the rising sun, neither of them too tired for some more shringar."How thoughtless of me Swami! You have travelled this long, and instead of letting you rest, here I am, rambling about my worries to you." Rukmini sighed shaking her head. The sun had ascended into the morning glory by now. Devaki and Revati had reached the temple steps panicking, in search of the beloved younger daughter in law of the house who was supposed to reach her chamber way before.
The fear on Devaki's face was soon replaced by relief seeing her son. She hurried towards the couple, smiling as Krishna leaned in to take her blessings, by touching her feet.
"Keshav.. when did you arrive putr? We didn't even get any news about your arrival." She enquired, caressing the soft curls of her son, with motherly grace.
"I have just arrived Mata."
Devaki nodded affectionately and looked at Rukmini with a fake glare. She playfully hid behind her lord as Revati chuckled.

The large hall was bustling with love and Happiness. In the middle, sat Rukmini in a luxurious ornate couch, dressed up in the most beautiful silk clothes, adorned with sola shringar. Her cheeks were glowing, profuse with happiness, the smile on her face never leaving for even a second. She looked around as the Dancers danced around her in graceful moves.Mata Devaki came infront of her with the Large Pooja thali and did the ritualistic aarti. Adorning her forehead with Tilak and tying the sacred thread to her wrist, Devaki pat the mother-to-be on the cheek, dearingly. As all the wives of Vasudeva and other female members of the family followed suit with the Aarti of the expecting lady, Devaki placed the Pooja Thali infront of Lord Ganesha with devotion.
Placing a long red piece of cloth on Rukmini's lap, Revati placed her upahar onto it first. A vibrant green saree, the color which Rukmini adored. Keeping a piece of laddoo into Rukmini's mouth, Revathi smiled. She made her elder son, nishatha to feed his chotte matashree as well. The little kid giggled as Rukmini ruffled his hair lovingly.
Following Revathi, all the guests and family gathered in the hall placed their gifts on to her lap, blessing the mother with prosperity and love. Little subhadra was standing close to Rukmini at all times, as she watched the rituals curiously.
The soft music echoed through the hall, while the ghunghroo jingled in meticulous harmony. A single peacock feather found it's way, yet again to her, bringing along with it love and adoration as it graced into her opened lap.
