The celebrations which commenced as the gentle rays of The sun touched the divine land of Dwaraka could be felt from miles away. People all over the kingdom and the world rejoiced as the day marked the union of Krishna and his Ardhangini Rukmini. A day which came by finally as an answer to the agony and awaiting of Krishnatmika.

The fire in Agnikund blazed brilliantly as Krishna and Rukmini sat behind it, palms joined, dressed in the most beautiful attires. It felt, for those watching, as if witnessing Mahavishnu and Mahalaxmi in all their glory.

The pandit continued uttering mantras as people watched over them happily. Mahadeva and Devi Gauri from kailasa looked at each other with a gleeful smile while Brahmadev and Saraswati rejoiced in Brahmaloka. The world indeed looked beautiful than ever on this auspicious occasion. The gentleness and purity of the happiness of the young couple emanated into the souls gathered around. Love flew around free and unbounded, like the white feathered doves sanctifying the blue sky.

As the Priest requested for the Mangalsutra to be brought, Revati came in. Mangalsutra was blessed, but it shone the most as It was picked up by the hands of Krishna. It glowed brilliantly reflecting the warmth and tenderness of their bond. Rukmini stooped her head low as Krishna tied the sacred thread of love around her neck. Following it, the Sindoor was brought in. Picking up a considerable amount, Krishna adorned the parting of Rukmini's hair with the red of Sindoor. She smiled, closing her eyes as the feel of the Sindoor on her forehead made ways for new light and view for her life. A bit of her Sindoor stuck to the wheaty complexion of her nose. Opening her eyes, she saw the the delightedly smiling face of Krishna looking down at her, with so much love and fondness filling those dark orbs that ignited the butterflies in her.

They stood up and took the varmala made of alluring composition of orchids and Lotuses, off the golden plate. Facing each other through the overwhelming shyness, rukmini stretched her hands to garland her groom. Krishna was considerably tall relative to her petite form and stooped for her to reach him. Krishna taking the other varmala, bestowed it upon his bride and without waiting for another moment, took hold of the delicate hands of Rukmini with his own muscular ones. Her cheeks colored crimson at the sight of their joined hands and she felt the need to keep her eyes fixed on the fire, to conceal the novel emotions, that she never knew, getting brewed up in her. Flowers were showered, even from the heavens, as they rounded around the fire completing each round of the saath phere signifying the importance and need of nourishment, prosperity, strength, union, noble offsprings, peace, mutual understanding and friendship for the couple entering the wide arc of marriage.

Revathi held Balarama's arms and rested her head on his shoulders reminiscing the time of her own wedding. Her lips formed into a motherly smile seeing the innocence of Rukmini and she chuckled softly remembering how naive she had been herself. Her glossy eyes twinkled with a certain emotion she couldn't pinpoint seeing the young couple lost in themselves in the midst of all these people. Newfound togetherness was indeed mellow like the Zephyr on a misty morning and tender like the petals of the Lotus held by Goddess Lakshmi.

The bright rays of sunlight beamed upon the family as they stepped out. Krishna helped Rukmini to climb up the carriage for the journey from Madhavpur. It was quite sunny, like the smiles adorning all the faces, overtaking the physical exhaustion. Daruka rode the chariot, as was his duty, with undying devotion springing up in his being. It's not everyday you get to escort your universal parents on their wedding.

As they reached the City of Dwaraka, citizens came running towards their lord and lady. Rukmini glanced at the her husband as she greeted the people of Dwaraka respectfully with a smile beautiful as the fresh blooms of roses. Ecstasy lingered in the air and everyone felt a new wave of pleasure at sight of the married couple. The carriage moved forward steadily as followers gathered behind them, elated and energetic. The palace gates stood wide open welcoming with certain warmth the new bride into her new home. Devaki rushed to make sure the preparations for Griha pravesh was completed nicely and waited at the entrance, eagerly.
