"Can I have your phone number, please? Sorry, what’s your name?" Day asked directly, as he really couldn’t remember.

"My name is Chan. And my phone number is…" Chan replied with a smile, understanding that Day didn’t remember him. He then gave his phone number, and Day saved it to his phone right away.

"Thank you very much, Uncle Chan, for telling me this. If I find the land title, I’ll call you back. In the meantime, please don’t tell anyone you’ve seen me," Day said.

"Sure thing," Chan replied.

"By the way, do you come to visit here often?" Phai asked.

"Not really. Today is my niece’s birthday, and she insisted I come, so I came for a bit," Chan replied.

"Oh, in that case, let me give you a discount. Normally, we give a 10% discount to people celebrating their birthdays on that day. I’ll increase it to 20% for you," Phai offered.

"No need for that; just give me the regular discount," Chan replied immediately.

"Consider it a thank you for alerting my friend about the land," Phai reiterated.

"I just noticed it wasn’t right and thought I should warn you," Chan answered kindly.

"That’s exactly it; it’s our way of thanking you," Phai said again, and Chan smiled in response.

"Well, thank you then," Chan replied before Phai called a staff member to come in with him to check which table they were at and noted that the table would have a 20% discount.

"Honestly, didn’t you ever check what inheritance you got from your parents?" Phai asked.

"I know there’s land, but I can’t remember where it is. But what’s strange is that I never received any property tax notifications, even though I informed the district office about my address change. So I ended up forgetting that I have my parents’ land," Day answered honestly.

"Then you need to find the land title first, and then go to the land department to see where your land is. You also need to ask why you haven’t received the property tax notifications all this time," Phai suggested.

"Hmm, looks like I need to stay a little longer," Day replied.

"Let me know if you need any help," Phai said before the two of them headed back into Phai’s office, where Day told Brick that he had to stay in Kanchanaburi.

"Land by the riverside, huh? It must be expensive," Brick commented.

"Hmm, in that case, let’s go back to the shop first because I have kept all my parents’ things there. I haven’t moved them to the new house yet," Day said. Brick nodded in agreement before asking to head back first, and Phai nodded as well.

Day took Brick back to his salon and went up to his bedroom. He went straight to the storage cabinet and documents, which he had hardly opened at all. Brick came to help him look, and the two of them rummaged through the items before discovering that there really was a land title.

"Wow, five rai of land! How did you forget this? And it’s right by the river!" Brick exclaimed when he saw the land title.

"I really missed out on this. Looking on the bright side, I’m glad to find out now. If I had remembered back when I was still in school, I probably would have sold it already," Day replied.

"How much is riverside land like this worth?" Brick asked curiously.

"Right now, it should be around 3-4 million per rai," Day answered back, not entirely sure. Brick’s eyes widened when he heard that.
