Brick immediately laughed when his lover finished speaking because he was genuinely annoyed by certain parents in that group who complained that their child was well-behaved with no issues, but went silent when shown the evidence from the cameras."I was just looking for an excuse to eat cake, that's all. Are you satisfied now?" Brick admitted, and Day smiled slightly at the corner of his mouth.
"There are cakes sold at the walking street too, Brick. Want to try some? The taro cake is really delicious. I bought some to try," Belle suggested.
"I think I should take Brick and Belle to have their blood sugar checked soon," Day said, causing Brick and Belle to glance at him with narrowed eyes simultaneously.
"Not that bad, right?" Brick replied.
"Heh heh, are you sure?" Day teased, making Brick pause for a moment.
"Day, don’t talk like you’re really worried," Brick responded. Day accepted the playful banter with a smile but didn't say anything more. Before telling the staff in the restaurant, they could go home since there were no customers left, and some were still in shock. Day stayed to settle accounts in the restaurant while Brick and Belle sat waiting because they would go to the walking street together. Belle would ride her motorcycle while Day and Brick drove by car as they could separate on the way back. Once the time came, the three of them headed to the walking street, which Belle had already told them where to park.
When they arrived, they walked toward the two-way walking street market by the riverside. Brick was amazed because there were more shops than when they were before, and they were arranged in a long row on both sides. The riverside area had also been landscaped for leisure; people could sit down, lay out mats to eat food, enjoy the view, listen to music from students, and there was a skateboarding area for people to play as well.
"I didn’t think it would change so much; we come to Kanchanaburi quite often, but we never walked around." Brick said, and Day nodded in agreement.
"There’s a skywalk, too. Are you interested in going up?" Belle suggested. Brick immediately shook his head.
"Uh, no thanks. It's made of glass, and I'm scared."
Brick answered with a dry smile, and the three of them decided to walk around and look at the items in the walking street market, most of which were food, with a few clothes and other items.
"I think I'm definitely going to be hungry, Day. I want to eat everything I see," Brick said.
"Just look around first. We can buy things when we walk back; our car is parked on this side anyway," Day replied. Brick nodded in response. Belle led the two of them, and Brick and Day walked side by side.
"We came at a good time; if we came later, there would be so many people," Belle said, as the sky was still bright since they arrived at around 5 PM.
"Brick, do you want to eat mala? Por's relative who made mala powder for us to eat when we set up the tent sells it here too," Belle said.
"Yes, yes, P'Belle!" Brick immediately replied. It wasn't long before they found the mala stall that Belle mentioned. The stall owner warmly greeted Belle. Brick asked Day if he wanted some, and Day told him to choose a few in case they would pay for it upfront, then collect it later when they came back, so they wouldn't have to wait in line.
"Day, that salad looks so good... Day, do you think the boxed pastry will be delicious... Day, mango sticky rice... Day..." As they walked along, Brick kept calling Day's name to look at the tempting food on display.
"I really think you must be quite hungry," Day said with a sigh but smiled slightly. Seeing his lover so cheerful and lively eased his mind and made him happy as well.
