"How are you, Day? Is everything alright?" Brick immediately asked his lover as Day walked into the shop.
"Um, everything's fine," Day replied, nodding for Brick to follow him to the office. Brick quickly got up and followed.
"And what about Khun Kom and the others?" Brick continued to ask.
"They've all gone their separate ways. I think it's all over now," Day said. He felt quite confident that Councilman Methi wouldn't dare to interfere with him again, and Methi probably instructed the elders not to meddle with him as well. As for whether anyone might secretly backstab him, that remained to be seen over time.
"Tell me what happened. There was no fighting, right?" Brick asked, eyeing his lover curiously.
"Heh, did you think I would be as soft and impulsive as before?" Day responded jokingly before recounting everything to Brick.
"Serves him right! He wants to use his power against us, huh? If you were just someone without any backing, y would have had to sell the land to those people, wouldn't you?" Brick said, displeased.
"Let's wait for another 2-3 days to see what the elders will do," Day suggested. He thought that Councilman Methi would likely call Chief Taat for a discussion.
"Well, I hope it really ends here," Brick replied.
"Oh, P'Phai stopped by. He said he didn't want to call you because he was afraid you were busy. He mentioned he'd go to our house later this evening," Brick said as he remembered. Day nodded in acknowledgment.
"Do you want me to make something for you? I can cook," Brick asked, eager to prepare a meal.
"What will you make?" Day inquired. Brick pondered for a moment.
"How about spicy minced pork, fried chicken, and fish tom yum? I want to eat fish, but you'll need to help me with the tom yum, okay? I'm afraid it'll be too fishy," Brick explained. He felt quite confident about the first two dishes, but the last one still made him hesitate.
"Okay, let's go buy fresh ingredients at the market," Day said. Brick smiled in response before Day sat down to continue working, while Brick went out to invite Belle to have dinner at their home. Belle agreed.
Ding...
The sound of the shop door opening caught Brick's attention, and he intended to greet the newcomer, thinking it was a customer. However, he widened his eyes a bit and smiled broadly when he saw who walked in.
"Beam! Long time no see," Brick greeted Beam, Day's junior who had previously worked part-time at the shop.
"Hello, P'Brick, P'Belle! I missed you so much! And where's P'Day?" Beam greeted with a smile.
"Day is in the office. By the way, who did you come with?" Brick asked.
"I came with P'Kan, but he had to go for further work discussions. I wanted to get a haircut, so I stopped by. I didn't expect to run into you, P'Brick and P'Day, here," Beam said, smiling.
"Are you on break?" Brick asked since he knew Beam studied in Bangkok.
"Yes," Beam replied.
"Then let's go see Day inside. You can have him cut your hair," Brick suggested and led Beam into the office. The sound of the door opening caught Day's attention, and he looked up briefly, raising an eyebrow.
"Hello, P'Day," Beam greeted with a polite gesture. Day nodded.
"Are you on break?" Day asked, and Beam nodded.
"Day, Beam is here for a haircut. You should cut it for him since you've met," Brick said.
"Sure," Day agreed, causing Beam to smile widely. The three of them then exited the office. Beam sat in the chair in front of the mirror, while Brick stood nearby chatting. Day then began to cut Beam's hair.
