The luxurious suite was silent, the distant hum of the city a mere whisper against the thick tension in the room. You'd only come to deliver some documents, expecting a quick exchange, but as you stepped inside and noticed the faint sound of running water, something drew you deeper in.

"Aventurine?" you called softly, but your voice seemed to vanish in the stillness.

When your eyes adjusted to the dim light, you froze. Aventurine stood there with his back to you, his shirt discarded on a nearby chair. Shadows danced over his skin, and that's when you saw them-the scars crisscrossing his back. Each line told a story of a past he'd kept carefully hidden, some marks faded, others sharper, as though carved recently into a memory he couldn't shake.

You drew a quiet breath, taking in the sight with gentle empathy rather than shock. He sensed your presence, his shoulders tensing, and he turned slowly, his magenta and cyan eyes widening slightly with alarm before he instinctively lowered his gaze. He reached up as though to adjust his glasses, only to stop, fingers curling inward.

"I... didn't mean for you to see this." he murmured, his voice barely a whisper, stripped of its usual confidence.

You took a step closer and lifted a hand, resting it on his cheek. He blinked, his gaze finally meeting yours, vulnerability softening his eyes. Gently, you slid his glasses off and set them aside. Without them, his gaze was clearer, open in a way he rarely allowed.

You stepped around him, your touch featherlight as you traced the scars on his back. "You've been through so much," you whispered, voice laced with compassion. "You don't have to carry it all alone."

He stilled, every line of his body taut, yet he didn't pull away. You leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to one of the scars, letting your lips brush over each one as if to soothe the pain he'd endured in silence. Your hands traced the lines with care, as if you could smooth away the marks left behind by a trauma he'd never spoken of.

"You are worthy of love, Aventurine," you murmured between kisses, voice steady and full of conviction. "Of happiness. Of everything good."

A shiver ran through him, and he let out a breath he seemed to have been holding, the tension finally easing under your touch. As he turned to face you, a new warmth filled his gaze, gratitude and something deeper, quieter, rising to the surface. For the first time, he allowed himself to be vulnerable, resting his forehead against yours, closing his eyes as he let himself be held, comforted, and reminded of his worth.
