In the dim glow of your shared apartment, the quiet hum of the city outside was a soothing backdrop. Aventurine’s eyes sparkled in the warm light as he stood by the window, gazing out before he turned his attention back to you with that familiar, mischievous smile. He crossed the room with the smooth confidence that always made your heart race, his coat swaying around him like a shadow, the golden roulette details catching the light just so.
You were seated on the plush couch, wrapped in a cozy blanket, savoring the rare, peaceful moment. Aventurine dropped down beside you, his knee touching yours, as his fingers danced over the back of your hand. He studied your hand as if it held the secrets of the universe, his gaze drifting to your ring finger.
“You know,” he murmured, his voice a soft, playful drawl, “I’ve been thinking of ways to make this… official.” His eyes gleamed as he ran his thumb over your ring finger. You arched an eyebrow, curious, but he only grinned in response, his fingers gently tracing down to your knuckles.
Before you could ask what he meant, he lifted your hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to the back of it. His breath was warm against your skin, and his fingers wrapped around yours firmly. But then, without a word of warning, he brought your ring finger closer to his mouth, his eyes never leaving yours. You could see a hint of playfulness, maybe a hint of danger. And then, he bit down gently—not enough to hurt, but enough to make his point.
His teeth pressed into your skin, marking you with a slight impression, as his lips brushed against your finger. When he finally pulled back, a faint set of teeth marks adorned your ring finger. He smiled, a proud gleam in his eyes, and raised your hand to study the mark he’d left behind.
“We’re married now.” he whispered, his tone teasing yet strangely serious. His gaze held yours, a hint of something deeper flickering in his expression. There was that unmistakable Aventurine confidence, that sense that he always knew exactly what he was doing and how you’d react.
You felt your heart flutter, the weight of his words settling over you. “Is that so?” you replied, trying to match his light-hearted tone, though the sincerity in his eyes made it hard to keep up the playful banter.
“Oh, absolutely,” he said, leaning closer, his face inches from yours. “No one else could ever claim you now.” His hand came to rest on your cheek, his thumb brushing gently over your skin. “It’s official.” he whispered, his voice a little softer, his smile almost gentle.
His lips found yours then, soft yet confident, his touch a blend of familiarity and newness, as if he were determined to memorize every part of you all over again. When he pulled back, his eyes softened, the intensity melting into a warmth that made your heart feel like it was about to burst.
You looked down at your ring finger, admiring the faint impression of his bite, and felt a rush of affection. Aventurine was unlike anyone else—he had a way of turning even the smallest moments into memories, even if it meant making something so lighthearted feel so irrevocably binding.
He pulled you close, resting his head against yours, the room settling into a comfortable silence. “You’re stuck with me now, you know.” he murmured, his voice warm with something between humor and sincerity.
You grinned, feeling the reassuring weight of his arm around you. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
