Artemis pov

I calm down in Kuinas arms and she pulls away from me to look at my sad face.

"What happened, Love? Why are you crying?" She asks using her fingers to wipe my tears away.

I shake my head," Just, being here is a lot." I tell her and she nods down at me sadly.

"Well, I was going to introduce myself to the newbies, care to join me?" She asks and I nod. She stands and holds her hand out to me, I take it and curl into her side. She smiles down at me and we walk back to the pool area, I notice the eyes of everyone on me as we walk through the crowd and I once again feel like crying.

Kuina and I walk over to Arisu and and Usagi, I give a shy wave at Arisu who looks shocked to see me.

"You're okay." He says happily and I nod. I sit behind the girl as Kuina takes a seat behind Arisu.

"Is she your girlfriend?" Kuina asks Arisu.

"What? No, I'm not." Usagi says and I look down at my fingers not wanting to see all the people giving me dirty and fearful looks.

"If you two like each other, why not hook up? You guys could die tomorrow." Kuina says and I slap her knee.

"Don't say things like that." I tell her and she grabs my hand and kisses the back.

"What's it to you?" Arisu asks her.

"You should live while you're alive." Kuina says and it's silent for a moment until she speaks up once more." My mother is stuck in a hospital." My head snaps up at the words." She can't even go to the toilet by herself. And I wounded up here. That's why I need to survive and go home. And that's the reason I quit smoking. Back in the day, I couldn't stop smoking." She says holding out the plastic that she usually chews at during the day." But to survive the game, you need to stay healthy. I absolutely need to survive and go back to my other world."

There was clanging and I hear Niragi's voice and perk up not seeing him for what felt like forever.

" Hey! Stop that crap music." Niragi calls out, and the music stops as everyone watches the hord of Militants march through the pool area getting closer and closer to where we sat.

Aguni leads with LB and Niragi behind him, people move to get out of the way.

"They're the militant corps at The Beach. If you want to live in peace here, then do not mess with them." Kuina warns Arisu." General Aguni is an ex-specail Forces officer. He controls all of the weapons at the beach. The person who commands the beach right now is the number one Hatter and his lackeys as well as the militants led by Aguni. Right now, law and order at The Beach is very fragile. Both of these groups could clash at any time." Kuina finishes right as Aguni steps over to us.

Niragi smiles at me and I give a shy grin back.

"Where's your friend?" Aguni asks Arisu, Arisu doesn't answer him and Aguni continues." Oh, yeah? He's dead? Too bad, yet someone like you still lives."

"You know each other?" Kuina asks. Aguni looks at Usagi who stares back and my body tenses.

"Hey." Aguni calls out to Niragi." Bring the woman." He says and I frown and grab Usagis arm.

"You got it." Niragi says and I almost snarl.

"No." I say standing up.

Niragi glares but I ignore him and look at Aguni."No." I tell him. He only stares at me.

"The woman." He repeats, Niragi pushes me into Kuina who holds me tight and I look back at her in shock as she looks at me with a sorry look in her eye. I huff as I struggle in her strong grip.
