Ch.20

It was noon the next day, and we found ourselves standing outside the Shibuya station, each of us staring in a different direction.

The quiet gave me time to think, and my mind went to dark places, LB was dead and it was my fault, Niragi was dead and I didn't get to say goodbye, and An was gone.

I move closer to Chishiya who had his hands in his pocket, and loop my arm through one of his and hug it to my chest. He glances at me with a soft smile before looking out once more.

I hear rumbling and perk up. Usagi must hear it, too, catching Kuna's attention, who is sitting on the floor.

"What is it?" She asks looking up at Usagi.

"I hear something." Usagi says and walks past Chisiya and me, Kuina stands up as we look in the direction of the grumbling only to see cars from The Beach drive over and surround us.

Everyone gets out the car and I let go of Chishiya and take a step forward as I reach over my shoulder for my sword, as my fingers brush the handle I feel the same comfort LB used to bring to me.

Usagi and Arisu step forward to talk to them.

"What is this? What are you doing here?" Arisu asks.

"We saw the blimps show up." A man speaks.

"There are rumors that the next stage is starting." A woman speaks up next.

"Right, here's the thing-" A bang makes me flinch as the force of the bullet knocks the man down, with wide eyes I grab Chishiya and Kuina by the arm and start to pull them back with me as my eyes wildly look around trying to find where the bullet came from.

Another bang and the woman who last spoke was dead.

"A rifle, get moving." Chishiya speaks and we start moving faster." That thing's an anti-tank rifle." Chishiya talks as he calmly walks and I yank on him to move faster."So, I would forget about hiding behind a car." We run sticking with Kuina, Usagi, and Arisu.

They speak but I pull up my mask and tune them out as I watch behind us as we slowly prowl around a building, I pull my handgun out hoping I have enough bullets.

My breath picks up as I think about what to do. I follow the group until a round of gunfire stops me, and I run in a different direction I keep running this way and that until I see the shooter and I point my gun at him, I pull the trigger but it is as if the bullets bounce off of him, I eventually run out and toss the gun away as I turn a bullet lands in my shoulder and I let out a shout as I fall to the floor, I allow my body to roll and use the momentum to jump up onto my feet.

I continue running as I hear people getting shot down behind me.

I hide inside a clothes store until the gunfire stops and peeks out, I lost everyone, and Im now once again all alone.

I look up to see another blimp, the Jack of Hearts. It looks like it's at the prison. I take my leather top off and take a look at my wound, I find a mirror and look at my back, I look past all my scars and see the exit wound, that's good.

I grab a shirt tying it around my wound as tight as I can and put my leather top back on.

I decide to move quickly towards the prison, sticking to the shadows to not be seen. I can feel myself getting weaker and weaker the longer I go without treating my wound.

I get to the prison and walk into the lobby there I see a white table with a collar's sitting on the table, it seems I've gotten here pretty early. I grab a collar and put it on then follow the instructions on the card.

I go upstairs to the central guardroom to see many people, some eye me in fear, and some eye me in shock or disgust. I hear some start to talk about how much blood I was covered in, dried and fresh.
