Ch.23

Artemis pov

From the distance, we see the King of Diamonds blimp and walk up to the building.

"Are you sure you wanna play?" Chishiya asks and I shrug.

"Why not." I tell him." The last game was too easy." I tell him and he chuckles.

"Exactly what I was thinking princess." he pulls me closer to him and I playfully push him away, he walks through the threshold first and then there is a loud horn. I frown and step back as he turns around confused to look at me.

"Registration closed." My eyes widen when the announcer speaks, Chishiya tries to step towards me with wide eyes but I shout out to stop him.

"Stop! You'll die!" I tell him and he freezes. I sigh and look around." What do I do?" I ask him as my eyes get wet." I don't want to leave you." I tell him and he looks at me sadly.

"How about you head over to Shibuya Crossing and I'll meet you there, okay?" He speaks softly and I nod sadly.

"Make it out of there alive." I tell him and he smiles at me.

"Of course, princess." He says and he slowly turns around and walks inside. I sigh and walk away from the building hesitantly.

 Chishiya will catch up, I know he will. He has too.

I was about to walk through a tunnel but froze as I saw a man hovering over another. The man that was sitting was covered in blood as the man hovering over him held a gun in the dying man's mouth, I pulled out my sword as I watched what was happening from behind a car.

The man pulls the gun from the other's mouth and pushes it into their chest as I creep up behind them.

"Drop the gun." I tell them and they freeze." Drop it!" I shout letting my blade touch the side of their neck. They slowly stand and turn to me and my eyes widen.

"Niragi?" I whimper out as tears flow down my cheeks and I let out a sob as I let my arm fall to my side.

He has a crazed look in his eye but smiles at me, he steps forward and I take a step back as I eye the burn scar along his face and whimper once more, I reach up to cup his face and he leans into it.

"You're hurt."I tell him and he hums and pulls me closer.

"It's all healed up, it's just scars." he tells me and I sigh." How? What happened?" He shakes his head.

"Don't worry about it, Im just glad you're safe, I've been looking for you." He tells me and I chuckle as another sob wracks my body.

"I thought you were dead! Chishiya said you were dead." I cry out and he pulls me into his body. He shushes me as he strokes my hair trying to soothe me.

"Im right here." He tells me and I calm down." Im right here with you."

I pull away when my tears dry up and look at the dying man.

"We should help him." I tell Niragi and he scoffs.

"He failed trying to kill himself. We should leave him to suffer." Niragi says and I frown at him.

Niragi sighs before turning to the man," You're lucky, my girl is here." He hisses out, he raises the gun and I cover my ears as he shoots the man.

I take Niragi's hand and kiss the back as it was scarred too. " I was heading to Shibuya Crossing, Chishiya told me he'd meet me there." I tell him and he smiles at me.

"Then let's go there." I hold Niragi's hand as we walk, we don't say much until we reach Shibuya station and go into a store, we grab water bottles and some packaged snacks, I find some spray paint and leave a note for Chishiya pointing him towards the hotel around the corner.

 We get to the hotel and grab a key to a random room, I block the door with a chair before moving onto the bed with Niragi, only one bed not that I mind.

We eat our food and drink our water sending glances to each other, when we are done I stare at his scars.

"Do you think Im ugly now?" He asks and I frown.

"No, of course not." I tell him and he scoffs." Niragi, I loved you because of who you are not for the way you look." I tell him and he snaps his head to me and smiles.

"You still love me?" He asks and I scoff.

"Yes, you big idiot!" I shout and hit him with a pillow making him laugh. I pull him into a quick kiss, before pulling away.

"We should get some rest." I tell him and he sighs, Niragi kicks off his shoes and I do the same.

We spent hours talking about the games we played, he played a game with Kuina, Arisu, and Usagi. This gave me hope that An and Kuina were still alive and I told him about the Jack of Hearts game, he fell asleep first and I lay on my side and stared at him as he slept.

Being burned as he was must have been painful, I remember the first time I burned a wound closed I passed out from the pain.

I fall asleep staring at Niragi and wake up with the sun. 

I get up, put my shoes on, and leave the hotel, planning on making a quick trip I go to a clothing store and get a pair of black jeans before finding a shirt, I smirk at the shirt in my hand reminding me of the one Niragi used to wear. The shirt was black and white zebra print similar to the black and white giraff print of Niragi's old shirt that I loved. Next, I go and get more food and water, I check out the area for Chishiya before going back to the hotel. I  walk down the hall only to hear shouting coming from the room and I break into a sprint, I slam the door open and Niragi looks at me with wild eyes.

"What's wrong?" I ask him and he pants.

"You were gone." he tells me and I pass him the backpack I took to carry everything.

"I got you a change of clothes, and I got us breakfast."I tell him and he tosses the bag away before yanking me into his arms.

"Don't leave like that, ever again. You need to tell me when you leave, I-I thought you left without me, I thought you left and you weren't coming back!" Niragi shouts emotionally and I shush him as I rub his back his grip on me tight.

"It's okay, I would never leave you like that. Im sorry, baby, Im so sorry." I calm him down." How about we take a bath?" I ask him and he nods.
