Nick's POV
"I forgot you live here now." She said when I walked into the kitchen.
I ignored her and put her keys down on the counter. "I'm tired of going back and forth to meet Cory or Larry." She said as I poured myself a glass of water.
"Why? Did they ask us to go see them?" I asked.
"Mom said they have a 'very important announcement'." She said in a bored tone as she flicks through her phone.
"So...shouldn't we be meeting them?" I asked.
"I don't know," She said like it was obvious she's not supposed to know.
I sat my glass down "What else did they say when they told you they have an important announcement?"
"I don't know, I was with Patrick."
"Oh my God." I muttered "Are you kidding me? How could you be so careless? What if they're waiting for us right now? Didn't we all asked you to stop seeing him?"
She glared at me for a moment then cleared her throat "I'm going to ignore most of that and just point out the fact that if they're waiting for us right now wouldn't they be calling me nonstop?"
I considered "Well,"
"She mentioned something about dinner, though."
"Who?"
"Mom."
"Jesus, stop giving me bits and pieces. What did she say?"
She shrugged and handed me her phone "Call her."
I took the phone from her and look down to the screen, it was flashing with a picture of Tish and the contact name 'Mom' across it. "Wait, she's calling you--answer it!"
"You do it." She said lightly.
"It's your phone!"
She took the phone from me and swiped her finger across the screen before forcefully pressing it against my ear. "Fuck, what are you doing?!" I said, removing her hand.
"Say hello!"
"Miley?!" I heard her voice from the speaker.
"Answer it!" She pressed.
I did eventually "Hello?"
There was a pause "Nick? Where's Miley?"
"Um," I look over at her who made crazy hand gestures, telling me to lie "She's with Patrick."
"No!" She took the phone from me "He's lying! I'm right here!"
I chuckled and she gave me the finger "No, I'm getting ready," She said to the phone "Yeah, okay...Okay!" She tore her phone from her face.
"What she say?" I asked.
"We're meeting her at Nobu." She said, referring to the sushi restaurant "Give me 5 minutes to change."
"Do I have to change?" I asked, examining my leather jacket and jeans.
"No, but lose the jacket. Its a casual dinner." She said disappearing into the hall. I sighed in exhaustion, I just got out of the car and now expected to be back in a car--not to mention that I'm also a little tired, I tried to shook it off and went to my bedroom to abandon my jacket.
Miley came out later with striped printed trousers and a black tank top, her hair was in all sorts of direction but she combed it with her fingers, it hung inches from her shoulders and curled behind lower her ear, and she held on to a small black clutch.
