Year 128
Westeros
Sunspear , Dorne
After the formalities in the great hall, the Daynes found themselves swept into the current of conversation. Aerion and Cassian quickly became engrossed in discussion with a few familiar lords, while Lady Kyria stood by her husband, graciously accepting warm greetings from various noblewomen.
Before long, a Dornish servant approached the Dayne children, inviting them to follow him to their quarters so they could settle in and rest.
Serena and Sylara exchanged glances, eager for a break from the formalities, and followed the servant through the winding corridors of Sunspear.
Soon, they arrived at a spacious room with arched windows that overlooked the sunlit courtyard below. Elyas enters the next room happy to have a room to himself.
Elyara and Sullen, the handmaidens of Serena and Sylara, were already there, unpacking linens and arranging the personal belongings that had arrived ahead of them.
The servant bowed and left them, and as soon as the door closed, Sullen looked up with a bright smile. "I trust the hall was grand, my ladies?" she asked, folding one last piece of fabric.
Sylara sighed, sitting cross-legged on one of the large, cushioned seats.
"It was grand, yes, but also terribly crowded. And a little bit overwhelming, if I'm honest, I was looking forward to getting here and talking to everyone but I think my energy was drained when I saw the crowd of nobles."
Elyara chuckled, joining Serena near the window.
"It's no surprise, with all of Prince Qoren's family and half the noble lords of Dorne there to greet you," she teased, her voice tinged with the excitement that even a seasoned servant might feel.
Serena leaned forward, intrigued.
"His family looked interesting, but we hardly know anything about them. Elyara, Sullen, do either of you know much about the Martells?"
Sullen nodded eagerly. "I've heard some things," she admitted with a knowing grin. "Prince Qoren has two children. The eldest is his daughter, Lady Mira, who lost her husband a few years ago. They say he died of some strange illness. Lady Mira has a daughter, little Alia, who's quite spirited for her age."
Sylara's eyes widened, surprised.
"So Lady Mira isn't married?"
"No, not anymore," Elyara replied. "They say she's completely devoted to raising her daughter now. And her father, Prince Qoren, dotes on both of them, especially Alia. She is his only granddaughter, after all."
Serena smiled softly, imagining the little girl she had glimpsed from across the hall.
"And what about the Prince's son?"
"Ah," Elyara said, her voice lowering slightly as if sharing a secret. "Prince Qoren's heir is his son, Lord Ryon Martell. He's married to Lady Lelia of House Uller. The Ullers are known to be a bit... spirited," she added, choosing her words with care, "but Lady Lelia is more refined. She's brought stability to her house, especially after marrying Lord Ryon."
