Westeros
Sunspear , Dorne
Aegon P.o.v
The morning sun cast a warm glow over the stone corridors of Sunspear, and Aegon trudged along, hands shoved deep in his pockets. Lucerys walked beside him, a small hop in his step as he tried to keep up with Aegon's long strides.
"I don't get it," Aegon grumbled, his voice bouncing off the sandstone walls. "Why did Mother bring us all the way out here just to sit around? It's been days, Luke. Days."
Lucerys shrugged, glancing at the tapestries along the walls.
"Maybe because she's meeting with the Prince of Dorne or something like that?" He looked up at his brother, his dark eyes curious. "Didn't you hear them talking about alliances?"
"Alliances." Aegon scoffed, rolling his eyes. "That's all they ever talk about, alliances, marriage proposals, the future." He threw his hands up in mock despair. "When are they going to think about our future? Like letting us have some actual fun."
Lucerys chuckled softly, nudging Aegon with his elbow.
"I mean, it's not all bad. We're at Sunspear, Aegon! We get to see a real Dornish castle. Not everyone gets to do that."
Aegon let out a sigh, though his irritation softened slightly.
"Yeah, well, it's no Dragon Stone. And there's no real dragon pit here. Just... sun. And sand..."
Lucerys laughed, nudging him again.
"Maybe that's why it's called Sunspear, Aegon."
Aegon stopped, giving his younger brother a look before a smirk crept onto his face. "Shut up, Luke..." But a chuckle escaped him as he shook his head.
They continued down the corridor, passing a few Dornish servants who looked at them with mild curiosity. Sunspear was different, smaller halls, warmer walls, and guards who wore light clothing instead of heavy armor. Aegon found it all strange and, in his own way, interesting.
After a quiet moment, Lucerys looked up at him.
"So... what do you think of Serena and her family? Do you think she's like... nice?"
Aegon shrugged, pretending to be indifferent. "She's alright, I guess. Bold... Not like the girls at court who giggle and stare..." He muttered, rolling his eyes at the thought. "But it's not like we're gonna be friends."
Lucerys grinned.
"She did stare at Syrax for a long time, though. Maybe she likes dragons."
Aegon paused, raising an eyebrow.
"Maybe," he said thoughtfully, glancing out a nearby window to the open sky. "Or maybe she's just waiting to turn to ash." Lucerys rolls his eyes.
As Aegon and Lucerys made their way down the corridor, voices echoed from around the corner. Aegon looked up just in time to see his mother, Rhaenyra, along with his father and Jace approaching from the opposite direction.
