Serena's Pov
Year 131 A.C
Westeros
Starfall, Dorne
The young Dayne slept soundly, lost in the depths of her dreams, wrapped in the warmth of her soft blankets. The gentle morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a golden glow across her room, yet she remained undisturbed, oblivious to the passing hours.
The world outside had long since awakened, but within the quiet comfort of her chambers, time seemed to stand still.
"Happy nameday, Rennaa!"
The sudden voice shattered the peaceful silence of the room, followed by the sound of the door bursting open and the quick patter of feet rushing toward the bed. Serena let out a sleepy sigh, still buried beneath the warmth of her blankets, only to be jolted fully awake as what felt like a sack of potatoes landed on top of her.
"Lady Sylara... Your mother said to let your sister sleep as long as she wished since it's her nameday..." Elyara's cautious, quiet voice carried a hint of reluctance as she entered the room behind Sissi. As if she already knew her words would be ignored.
And indeed, they were. Sylara had already accomplished her mission, judging by the triumphant giggles escaping her lips.
"Good morning, Sissi..." Serena's muffled voice came from beneath the covers, her tone caught between resignation and mild irritation. The weight on top of her shifted as Sylara rolled off, patting her sister's back playfully through the blanket.
Serena couldn't see, but she was certain Elyara was standing nearby, wearing the familiar expression of someone who had long given up trying to control Sylara's boundless energy for today.
"Come on, dearest sister! We have so much to do for your tenth nameday!" Sylara chirped, practically vibrating with excitement.
Serena groaned softly under her breath, regretting her decision to stay up late reading the night before. She had counted on a peaceful morning, knowing she had been granted the rare privilege of sleeping in.
"Sissi... I don't recall making plans with anyone today except Mother..." She mumbled, still clinging to the last remnants of sleep.
"Well, you didn't, until I decided this morning that we have a lot to do! Maybe the sweets I snuck from the kitchen helped with that, but that's not important little sister!" Sylara giggled again.
Serena exhaled slowly, realization dawning on her. That explained a lot. Normally, Sissi was lively only within the comfort of their family, preferring a quieter presence otherwise. But with stolen sweets fueling her enthusiasm, her energy seemed boundless.
Before Serena could react, her sister yanked away the blankets, shattering any hope of a peaceful morning.
"Sissiii!" Serena groaned, her voice thick with irritation.
