Jisung swallowed. "Chan are you sure you want to go out? You know, several of my friends just texted me about the condition outside," his gaze flickered to Chan's legs, "it can't be coincidence."
Chan nodded, "Yes, Sung. I'm aware of the danger and I've already taken my pills. I'll be back soon." He drifted off slowly to the door, as if a bit out of it.
"Dad...please be safe. Don't..." Don't let it get you too.
Chan turned around, a tender look in his eyes, "Of course, Sung. Come here." His arms spread wide and Jisung ran into his hug. A big, warm hug. Jisung felt lips press a soft kiss to the top of his head and all of sudden, he was a kid again. Without his burdens.
Jisung squeezed back the hug, holding it for a second longer before pulling back. "Bye, Dad."
"Aw buddy, don't say that. I'll be back in 15."
15 minutes passed.
30 minutes passed.
1 anxious hour passed.
2 concerning hours passed.
12 hours passed.
But he indeed came back in 15.
15 hours.
Sporting the last thing Jisung wanted to see.
Okay, let's wind it back.
In this town, there was a disease. No one knew the origin nor the name for this disease but one thing was certain. Once it took hold of its victim, it never lets go until a day later. It lets go of a corpse.
Simpler terms, sure death. This disease was fatal and death-ensuring.
The symptoms? An exposed leg. No flesh, blood dripping. And instead of bones, there would be a mechanical structure, shaped like bones, visible. And once a day passes, the disease takes the life.
Jisung felt his heart fail on him. Chan stumbled past the doorway and choked on a whisper, "I'm so-"
Jisung slammed right into Chan, enveloping him in a bear hug. He was unaware of the amount of time that had passed but he couldn't bring himself to pull away.
He let a choked sob surface as he wailed and clutched Chan's shirt, "You said you would be safe! Dad!"
Chan trembled, "I'm sorry. I..."
Jisung buried his forehead into Chan's chest. "Don't leave...me."
An ache in his chest blossomed.
The world around Jisung was starting to disappear. It's not continuing?
Jisung woke up, hearing Chan on a phone call, laughing.
It was all just a dream he had.
(ahem ahem i dreamt about a similar thing happening)
