Erin was planning a cute little date for her and Maisie. She knew that her girlfriend had had a difficult time with Sue as her coach and she wanted to do something nice to cheer her up.
She'd struggled with ideas but with the help of Ella and Less, she'd eventually come up with something.
Maisie was pleased that Sue was gone but things she'd said still stuck with her. Her confidence was low and she was feeling even more conscious about her ADHD than usual. Keira and Lucy had been pissed to hear about what had happened and it took a lot of convincing to stop Keira from calling the club and cussing them out; no one made her little sister feel like shit. Luckily Lucy had managed to calm her down before she did that but she was still angry about it.
Despite it being February, she'd decided on a picnic. She'd got blankets and a battery powered heater so they wouldn't be cold and then Karen helped her prepare the food.
Maisie rung the doorbell and was pleased to be greeted with a kiss on the lips.
"So what are we doing?" she asked once they'd shut the door and headed inside.
"I've prepared us a picnic. I've got blankets and a heater and all the food in that basket. If that's all good with you?"
"That is absolutely perfect."
They wrapped up warm and then got all the stuff to head to a spot Erin knew.
Maisie was carrying the wicker basket with all the food as Erin carried the other stuff.
"I feel like Little Red Riding Hood with this," she said, skipping along with the basket in her arms.
"Stop it. Come back here," Erin said with a laugh. Maisie always made her laugh even if she was winding her up.
"No. If I stop, the big bad wolf might get me."
"You're so annoying."
"I know."
They eventually arrived at the spot and they lay out a picnic blanket before unloading everything.
It was a nice, secluded area which was probably a good thing as they were very loud.
They got themselves comfy under blankets, well Erin did as Maisie couldn't keep still, and they tucked into the food.
It was super nice and Maisie devoured thing after thing as Erin picked more carefully through hers.
"This is so gorgeous," Maisie said, her mouth full before the cheese escaped down her chin. Erin chuckled at this as her girlfriend then tipped her head back and tried to get it back in.
"You're bonkers."
They chatted the whole time and their laughter echoed loudly all around them. There was something so freeing when they were together and it made them both feel an intense joy.
"Okay so you can fight anyone, dead or alive but you have to win? Who are you fighting?" Maisie asked.
"I have no idea," Erin chuckled.
"Come on. There must be someone."
"Uhm I don't know, Danny DeVito."
"Danny DeVito," Maisie cackled as she fell onto her side, "That's who you'd pick?"
"Yeah. What's wrong with that?" Erin asked but Maisie was too far gone to reply. She howled loudly as she lay on her back and it made Erin laugh as well; it was hard not to when her joy was infectious as that.
"Well who'd you fight then?"
"Probably like Muhammad Ali or someone."
"But you have to win?"
