Chapter 67: Old Habits Resurface

Lurk approached cautiously, noticing Fiver sitting alone, his eyes distant and unfocused. "How are you holding up, Fiver?" he asked gently, hoping for a reassuring answer.

Fiver looked up, seeming startled, as if pulled from a trance. He forced a small smile, but before he could respond, the familiar reaction took hold. Lurk's eyes widened as he watched Fiver double over slightly, clutching his stomach with a grimace. It was something Lurk had seen before, an old habit of Fiver's—the way his visions sometimes left him queasy, physically unsettled.

"Fiver..." Lurk murmured, the shock clear in his voice. "I thought you'd grown past... this."

Fiver shook his head, a bit embarrassed, steadying himself. "I thought so too," he admitted quietly. "But some visions are harder to bear than others."

Lurk sighed, placing a supportive hand on Fiver's shoulder. "You're not alone in this, you know. We're here to help you through it, however many times it takes."

Fiver nodded, grateful for the support, and took a few steadying breaths, hoping this would be the last time he'd have to face his fears so physically. But with his friends nearby, he knew he'd find the strength to face whatever came next.
