Chapter 69: Shadows Deepen

As they ventured deeper, the oppressive air thickened. The weight of what they'd seen, and what still lay ahead, settled heavily over them, making every step feel harder. Fiver tried to steady himself, but the gnawing pain in his stomach seemed to intensify with each breath. Every sound, every shifting shadow felt like an echo of his vision, reminding him of the grim future he was desperately trying to prevent.

Hazel noticed Fiver faltering and slowed his pace, glancing back with a look of quiet concern. "Take it easy, Fiver. We're right here," he murmured, a steadying hand on Fiver's shoulder.

Fiver clenched his teeth, nodding, though he couldn't hide the strain. "It's... getting worse," he admitted, voice barely more than a whisper. "The visions... the pain... It's like they're blending together, becoming real."

Bigwig exchanged a look with Blackberry, worry darkening his usually determined face. "Hang in there, Fiver. We've come too far to let anything stop us now."

Fiver swallowed, drawing strength from his friends' support, but the unshakable feeling remained—a tightening weight in his chest, a sharp twist in his stomach. And somewhere in the distance, he thought he saw movement—a shadow shifting, as if the future he feared was closing in faster than he'd ever anticipated.
