Carson left the room..did i upset him that bad ?
"Is ...he angry..?" I ask james
"I'll go talk to him" he says and leaves ,i felt so sorry for carson ,he has to deal with me a lot ,but there is nothing i can do...its my fear ,i sit up and sit on a chair on the corner of the room and cry more,i hear the door open and look up and see a worried carson coming at me ,he stood and watched me with his crossed arms
"What am i gonna do with you?" He sighs and kneels down and takes my chin up to make eye contact
"You got two options cooperate or be straped ,you will understand that its nothing scary once im done "
"You wouldn't do that ..."
"I would raelyn ,you will see its not that bad" is this really my brother?
"You're...scaring me..."
"Im sorry rae ,but its for your best so you either cooperate or get straped down" i sigh and get up and sit on the dental chair
"Good girl" he says and i let a tear fall down
"Breathe raelynn" james says and he reaches for my hand rubbing circles on it ,carson takes his tools and adjusts the light so it shines directly to my mouth
"Okay can you open up for me love?"
I open my mouth and he starts to look around ,after some minutes he takes the tools out
"Someone needs braces"
I quickly cover my mouth and proceed to cry again
"Heey its alright i didn't say that i will put them now ,its up to your choice,if you don't want them you're not getting them now ,but sooner or later you will have to get them"
I didn't want to get braces ,im not ready but this is the least i can do to prove him that im trying over my fear
"Fine...put them in.."
"Rae ,if you don't-''
He stopped
"What ....? You really said yes?!" I nod
"What a brave girl ! Im so proud of you ,james is going to do your orthodontic exam and then we will talk"
I nod and they switch seats then he applies gloves and a mask
"Okay we are going to do some measurements ,can you open please?"
5 minutes later--->
"Okay seems like we have an under bite and now we gotta get the molds " he says as he goes out of the exam room
"If you are getting over this with no fuss ,i'll buy you icecream "
I smiled ,but why carson says this like something worse than a needle is going to come... he puts his head on the handrest of the dental chair ,i hear the door open and see james with 2 trays with pink goop ,it looked nasty i was starting to regret my braveness
" im not gonna lie ,this is nasty ,but for only 2 mins alright?" I nod and open my mouth ,he places them both at a time
"James...weren't you supposed to place one at a time?" Carson asks
"Yes but placing them both reduces the gag reflex and minimalizes the time wasted" they both laugh
After 2 or 3 minutes he takes the molds out and rinses my mouth
"Yay ice cream!!" I yell and carson laughs
"Bye james!" We both say and he waves at us ,we leave and go to the car
"I did so good ! You deserve the icecream " he says as he ruffles my head
I could tell he was happy with me...
