Chapter 8

AUBREE'S POV
My phone started to ring and it was Lexi.
M-hey what's up
L- (crying) my mom is dead
M- what how
L- she had a heart attack while she was sleeping
M- omg are you OK
L- kinda but since my dad is in charge I can't
M- you can't what
L- I can't see you anymore
M- you can see me at school right
L- idk he is calling the school to have you in none of my classes
M- well jight not even go to school
L- y
M- whats the point if I don't get to hang out with you and who is going to watch my brothers
L- oh OK
M- bye

After I hung up the phone I cooked me a big bowl of Mac and cheese. While my food was cooking I sat on the couch and put the twins on either side of me and watched Wipeout. When my food was done I got it and sat back down on the couch and the twins looked at me like they wanted my food. I gave them each a little bite.

LEXI'S POV
I couldn't believe I just did that to my all time best friend. I couldn't believe my dad would make me do such a thing. I walk back inside to talk to my dad.
"Are you happy"
"With what" my dad says
"With everything your ruining my life"
"I'm just protecting you from what could happen"
"What are you talking about that family treats me like I am one of their own"
"That's what you think until they betray you"
"What?!?!?"
"Nothing your to young to understand things"
"Then why do you bring that kind of stuff up"
"Just go to your room and stay their"
"Fine"
I stomp up to my room and lay there on my bed when the twins start to cry I get up and walk to their bedroom. I grab Tiffany first and I notice she is really stinky. I change her and put her in the bouncer. Then I grab Brittany and start to rock her when my dad walks in and just stands in the door.
"Do you need something"
"Nope just wanted to say good luck" then he just walks out. I put Brittany back into the playpen and chase my dad down the hall.
"Wait, where are you going" he doesn't stop he just keeps walking and walks down the stairs.
