Chapter 24

AUBREE'S POV
So I am speeding down the highway thinking something is wrong. I get to my actual house(not the treehouse, the house her mom died in) I pull in the driveway and walk up to the door with Luke in my hands. Once I get there I unlock the door and go inside, shut the door and lock the door. I go out the back door and go toward the treehouse. When I get there I open the door and see Lexi sitting on the couch sobbing her eyes out with what seems like tea.
"Lexi whats wrong" I say as I put Luke in the floor
"Toby broke up with me, I didn't think it would be this hard but apparently it is" she says
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry"
"Is it OK if I stay here and will u go get my stuff from your grandparents house I would rather not see his face again"
"Yeah no problem"

LEXI'S POV
I am so glad that me and my best friend get to be besties again. Even if it does mean I have to not date her brother.

AUBREE'S POV
There was a long awkward silence when my phone rang.

PHONE CONVO
"Hello" I say
"Hi is this Aubree"
"Yes, who I this"
"This is Dallas
"Oh hi how did u get my number"
"The boss gave it to me, but I was calling to ask u if we could change the date to Saturday instead of Sunday"
"Umm yeah that's totally fine are we still doing it at 9"
"Yeah"
"OK well I have to go so bye I guess"
"Oh OK bye"

When we get off the phone I start to blush.
"Why are you blushing" lexi asks
"No reason" I say as a smile spreads across my face
"Oh my gosh you found a cute guy didn't you"
All I could do was nod and smile it feels so good to have my best friend back. I needed someone to talk to about boys.
"Wait I just noticed something"
"What"
"Where are your sisters"
"Daycare I was getting ready to go to the reading thing then my boss called an yeah"
"Oh"
"What's the cute guys name?!??"
"His name is Dallas"
"How hot is he, is he like supermodel worthy or over the top"
"Both" I say because I can't just pick one
LATER THAT NIGHT
LEXI'S POV
I am still a little bummed out about the whole breaking up thing. Me and Aubree are sitting on the couch holding our kids(we call them our kids just get use to for when they get older) when my phone rings. The caller id says unavailable.

PHONE CONVO
"Hello" I say
"Hi"
"May I ask who this is"
"No but I just have one thing to tell you" before he continues I put it on speaker
"Ok and what is that"
"You........."
END OF PHONE CONVO

I hung up on him because I don't care what he has to say, but it kinda reminds me of when Aubree and I would prank call people and then randomly hang up on them.
"Why did you do that?" Aubree asks
"Well because I felt like it, can I ask you something"
"Yeah go ahead"
"Have you thought about getting your stuff out of your actual house and moving into a real house?"
"Yeah but I didn't want to move by myself with two little ones to take care of"
"What about if we move in together?"
"Really you would do that"
"Yeah my grandparents don't want us so I might as well start moving on"
