Chapter 40

DALLAS'S POV
After I get off the phone with Lucas I decide to call my sister, Clare. She plans to come to the house in about 10-15 minutes after 30 minutes of bribing her to come here. Now I have to get Aubree dressed, I go inside hoping she will be easy to convince to get dressed.
"Hey babe" I say sweetly but not too sweetly
"Yeah" she says
I walk around the couch and into the kitchen where she is making sandwiches for all the kids.
"How about I make the sandwiches and you go get dressed"
"Why should I go get dressed its not like I'm going to be going anywhere"
"Will you just trust me and go get dressed"
"Fine" she says as she slams the knife down and goes to storm off. I grab her by the waist and I pull her real close and say
"You know you're so cute when you get mad at me" and kiss her.

She pulls back and goes to change. I finish making the sandwiches and set the table.

"CHILDREN" I yell and they all come trotting into the dining room and eat their sandwiches. I'm cleaning up the mess in the kitchen when I hear the doorbell. I walk to the door and it's Clare.
"Hey sis" I say
"Hey Dallas" she says
"So are you ready to go shopping with Aubree"
"I've never even met her"
"I know but look she's going through a rough time and she needs to get her mind off of things"
"And I'm suppose to do this"
"I was hoping you would"
"First you lie to me to get me down here and...."
"DALLAS WHO THE HELL IS THIS"
"Aubree it's my sister"
"Really, because I think not"
"Who do you think this is"
"Your cheating on me our wedding, just great just what I needed"
"Aubree we are not dating I swear this is my sister"
"For real I'm his sister" Clare finally chimes in
"Here's a picture of us at the zoo when I was 8 and she was 5"
"How do I know that's not just a random picture from the internet"
"Look who posted it on Facebook"
"Oh your mom, then I guess you really are his sister. Sorry for being so rude to you"
"That's alright. Dallas needed that after what he did to me" Clare says
"Oh my what did he do to you"
"Lets take his credit card and go buy your wedding stuff and I will tell you all about it"
"Alright sounds like a plan"
"Bye Dallas see you later" she says as she walks out of the door and kisses me

That is the happiest I have seen her all day. I'm so glad that she is going to finally get her mind off of things.

GINA'S POV
I can't believe that Lucas is making me leave the hospital until we get a call from the doctors. Like what if Lexi dies and I don't know until days later. Or she gets into a coma and she never said or mouthed her last words to me. I'm sitting in his truck right now refusing to speak to him. Suddenly I feel my phone vibrate. I pull it out of my pocket and look at it, Aubree.

G- hey what's up
A- hey I'm going shopping with Dallas's sister want to come
G- wait he has a sister since when
A- i don't know but want to come
G- sure where
A- the bridal shop on Main Street
G- alright be there in 10
A- alright see you in a bit
G- k bye
A- bye

I go to my messages and text Lucas
'Drop me off at the bridal shop on Main Street'

"Really you're not even going to talk to me" Lucas says
So I text back 'nope'
"Fine whatever I'm not arguing with you about something stupid"
I felt very happy but I still didn't talk to him. He dropped me off at the bridal shop and I went in.
"Hi I'm looking for Aubree" I say to this little old lady
"Oh yes right this way Miss" she says and goes off
I follow her to a dressing room where some random girl is sitting. I assume it's Dallas's sister.
"Hi you must be Dallas's sister" I say and stick my hand out
"Yeah and you are" she says kinda cocky
"I'm Gina Aubree's BEST friend"
"Oh yeah I'm Clare"
"Nice to meet you"
We shake hands and sit down on a couch looking thing.
