"What?! No, Maa... I can't do this. This is a huge responsibility!" Inaara's voice trembled, her wide eyes revealing the shock and uncertainty she felt.
Sangeeta sighed, placing a steadying hand on Inaara's shoulder.
"Inaara, listen to me. It's not as big as you think. This is part of your role now-as a Rajvansh daughter-in-law. You have to learn how to host these types of dinners."
Inaara's gaze fell to the floor, her fingers nervously twisting the edge of her dupatta.
"I understand, Maa, but... how can I possibly manage this?" She looked up at Sangeeta, her eyes pleading. "I've never seen a business dinner like this. How can I prepare for something I don't even understand?"
Sangeeta softened her tone, squeezing Inaara's shoulder reassuringly.
"It's not as different as you think, Inaara. Treat it like you would any other guest-just with a touch more formality. I'll be here, guiding you every step of the way."
Inaara bit her lip, a hint of desperation in her voice. "But, Maa... these clients are extremely important to Atharv. If anything goes wrong... no, no."
She shook her head, backing away slightly. "Please, you handle this one. Let me watch and learn, and I promise I'll take full responsibility next time."
Sangeeta's eyes hardened slightly, though her voice remained steady. "Inaara, stop worrying. Nothing will go wrong. Instead of focusing on the possibility of mistakes, focus on doing your best. I'll ask Avni to help you."
Inaara took a slow, deep breath, still looking uncertain but nodding at her mother-in-law's firm encouragement.
"Start your preparations now," Sangeeta said, her voice gentle but resolute, nudging Inaara toward her first step into this new role.
----
Sangeeta sat across from Atharv in the lavishly appointed sitting room of the Rajvansh mansion.
The ornate chandeliers above cast a warm glow, illuminating the tension etched on Atharv's face. He leaned forward, his brows furrowing in irritation as he met his mother's gaze.
"Maa, why would you give all the responsibility to Inaara for the upcoming dinner?" Atharv's voice rose slightly, frustration evident.
"She doesn't even dress properly for events. How can she handle something this important? Please, I can't let all my hard work go to waste over this".
His tone became more insistent, his hands clenching into fists on the desk.
"It's not just a dinner; it's a gateway for the Rajvansh Empire into the UAE market. I don't want all my hard work to go to waste!"
Sangeeta crossed her arms, her patience waning. "Atharv, stop being fussy," she replied, her tone sharp.
"She is the daughter-in-law of Rajvansh. She has every right to take on this responsibility. In the future, she will need to manage extravagant parties; this is just the beginning. I'm gradually giving her these responsibilities, and she will learn."
Atharv shook his head, disbelief flickering in his eyes. "But, Maa-"
"I will be here to supervise," Sangeeta interjected firmly, cutting him off. "If she makes any mistakes, I'll be right here to rectify them. This is my decision, and I'm not going to change it."
