The night was calm when they finally arrived at the penthouse, the city lights below flickering like stars scattered across the ground.

The day's events seemed to have drained everyone, and after a satisfying dinner, the atmosphere in the house grew quieter, almost like a peaceful lull before the storm.

Atharv entered his room, his eyes immediately landing on Inaara as she picked up her pillow, preparing to leave.

He arched an eyebrow, his voice low and laden with curiosity.

"Where are you going again?"

Inaara paused for a moment, looking up at him with her soft, confused expression.

"To Avni’s room... I’ll sleep there tonight. She leaves tomorrow."

Atharv stood still, his gaze intense.
"So what? She’ll be back again. Why do you need to go sleep in her room?"

Inaara frowned slightly, her mind not quite catching up with the words he spoke.

She tilted her head, her confusion evident. "What’s going on, Atharv? Why are you saying all this?"

He took a step closer, his tone shifting, a subtle edge of something more.

"What if I need something tonight? What then?" His words hung in the air, filled with an unmistakable implication.

But Inaara, as innocent as she was, didn’t quite grasp the hint in his voice.

"Then you’ll bring it, won’t you? All your needs are within arm’s reach here," she replied, completely unaware of the tension she was inadvertently building.

Atharv’s tongue slipped slightly, his frustration bubbling beneath the surface.

"What about you?" he muttered, almost to himself.

Inaara blinked, a slight furrow in her brow.
"Me? What about me?" she asked, genuinely puzzled.

He snapped, his voice sharp now.

"You go. Avni must be waiting," he said, turning his back to her as if the conversation was over.

Inaara stood there, even more confused than before. She watched as he turned away, her mind racing.

"Why is he behaving like this? It’s almost like he’s being childish... like a girl on her periods. "

The thought made her shake her head in disbelief.

Without another word, she grabbed her pillow and walked out, her steps soft as she left him standing there.

As the door clicked shut behind her, Atharv stood motionless for a moment, his hand instinctively reaching for his hair in frustration.

"Is she really that innocent?" he muttered under his breath, his voice tinged with exasperation.

"She can't even understand my hint... How am I supposed to make her see what I really want?"

The silence that followed felt heavy, filled with the weight of his unspoken desires, and the confusion that still lingered in the air, unanswered.
