As the evening settled, Inaara sat cross-legged on the balcony, her iPad propped up for a video call with Avni.

The cool breeze danced through her hair, but her focus remained on the lively face of her sister-in-law.

“Bhabhi, I need to tell you something,” Avni began, her voice hesitant yet brimming with excitement.

“Tell me,” Inaara urged, leaning closer with curiosity.

A shy smile spread across Avni’s face. “Bhabhi… Dhruv and I are dating.”

Inaara’s eyes widened, and an infectious grin took over. “Avni! I’m so happy for you. Since when?”

Avni chuckled. “It’s been a while. I wanted to tell you earlier, but with the minister’s incident and then your hospitalization, I didn’t get the chance.

Now that things are calmer, I thought it was the right time.”

Inaara nodded in understanding. “Does anyone else know about this?”

Avni shook her head quickly. “No, Bhabhi. You’re the first to know. Honestly, after you spoke to me about understanding relationships better, I felt ready to take this step. So, I wanted you to know before anyone else.”

Inaara’s smile softened. “Avni, I think you and Dhruv should tell the families soon. Both families are close. If they hear it from someone else, they might feel betrayed.”

“We’ve talked about it, Bhabhi,” Avni reassured her.

“We’ll tell them once everything settles down. Right now, things are still... delicate.”

Inaara nodded, though a trace of worry lingered in her expression.

“It’s good you’re thinking about this carefully. Just make sure not to wait too long.”

The conversation drifted to lighter topics until Inaara hesitated, her voice dropping slightly.

“Avni... have you noticed any increase in your security lately?”

Avni frowned, puzzled.

“I haven’t paid much attention, Bhabhi. Why do you ask?”

Inaara sighed.

“A few days ago, my security suddenly increased. When I asked Atharv, he said it was for all family members. I thought maybe you’d noticed something too.”

Avni’s expression turned thoughtful.

“Hmm… I’m not sure, Bhabhi. Security arrangements change often. Maybe it’s just routine. Don’t overthink it.”

Inaara tried to smile, but deep inside, the growing sense of confinement nagged at her.

She nodded slowly, murmuring, “You’re probably right.”

As the call ended and silence filled the balcony, Inaara stared into the fading twilight.

The walls of security around her felt invisible yet oppressive, and the unanswered questions weighed heavy in her heart.
