Chapter 16

Bexley

"I know it might be a lot to ask but can you help me take pictures of the bruises and scars?" I asked quietly. Ember had not stopped staring since I came out of the bathroom.
"We should have never let you go with that monster. I am so sorry Bexley. Of course I will take the photos but why?" She said.
"Well I can't stay married to the monster forever. I will get a divorce if I don't kill him first and I will need these photos to get it." I said quietly. She just nodded as she snapped the photos.
"I've been looking at houses close to home for you, I wanted to show you some." She said smiling.
"I'm not moving closer to home." I said and she looked at me confused. "He will expect that. I'm going to live close to him, that he could never expect." I continued. Her smile grew greatly as realization set.
"You're so smart. You seem to have grown slightly... dangerous." She said quietly.
"Trusting and loving the wrong people will give you that." I said. She stopped and turned towards me placing a hand on my shoulder but I knew what she was about to say. "I know you're also sorry about Derek. Turns out I wouldn't destroy him but he'd destroy me."

Ember had finished taking the photos and we had gone out to the living room and began house searching before I found the one I wanted, Declans house was on the other side of the forest behind my neighbor. It was a 20 minute drive since you have to go put and around and a 9 mile walk to his house, so close I could walk or run but far enough for him to not see me. It was a 3 bed 2 bath little house with only 2 other houses on that road. all 3 miles or more apart. We requested a viewing and then Veyron went to work out so I read some books while V and Em had some time alone. It had only been 20 minutes when a ding popped up on the computer, I checked it before running to get Veyron and Em.
"The realtor said she's free and can meet us right now." I said excited. They agreed so I let her know we'd be there soon, it was a 15 minute drive from the hotel. Ember had brought a black, straight, long haired wig for me to wear out in public so I had slipped it on before we left. When we arrived I was already in love, it was a small house in the middle of nowhere but semi close to town. There was a 1 car garage attached to the house which was a 1 story house with a full basement and a huge back yard that still needed to be fenced.

We were able to get the house furnished for extra and when we entered it was the living room which had a 70" tv and a built in bookcase on each side of the tv and it had a couch and a chase and a recliner. Between the couch and TV was a door that led to a small bedroom that would be great for an office space with a window that overlooked the front yard and road. On the right of the tv and bookcases was an open space that led to the dining room and kitchen. The kitchen was gorgeous with a breakfast bar, mahogany cupboard and built in closet pantry, along with a dishwasher. There was a giant window that sat over the bucket sink which allowed you to see the back yard. There was also 2 doors, one that was a sliding door to go outside and the other for the laundry room. Off of the kitchen was a master bedroom and bathroom, the master bedroom was open and bright and also overlooked the back yard. The bathroom had a small window that looked out in front of the garage. There was a stand up shower in the far left corner next to it was a long counter with a huge mirror and double sinks and in front of the shower  was a built into the wall and floor jetted tub. In the right side was a walk in closet and a toilet on the other side of a half wall. In the basement was an extra living room, spare bedroom and a second bathroom I could have a roommate who had their own space. I turned to the realtor.

"I'll take it. Fully furnished." I said. She smiled greatly and pulled out paperwork so I could have the keys and make a payment.
"Who do I pay?" I asked. She smiled.
"While I'm the realtor I'm also the homeowner it was cheaper to sell it myself but it was my first home when I had my first boy." She said. "So you can just pay me." I nodded before going to the car and grabbing the bag of cash. I dropped the bag in front of her and she gasped.
"I know it's weird but it's what I got." I said quietly. She nodded and took the money handing me the keys and the deed to the house before shaking my hand and leaving. Ember and Veyron had stayed the entire weekend and we got stuff set up, I ordered stuff for my office space and ordered food and ordered what I needed for the house before putting in an order for private fencing. Ember and I went car shopping and I picked out a 2024 magnetic silver ford fusion with black and grey leather seats. Ember decided she was going to live with me and tell everyone she took her trip to Paris which I didn't agree with at first but I figured why not. Veyron had to return home and keep working and such but we had been video chatting everyone night and he talked to Ember constantly.

I had a therapist I video chatted once a month to get through some of the trauma but hadn't made it too far. I had been training with Embers personal trainer and we had both been taking self defense classes. I had gotten good at the self defense training and working with the personal trainer. I had also been taking law classes, art classes and cosmetology classes. I have had a very busy schedule, it had now been 6 months almost 7 since I ran from Declan. I had seen him a few times but he never noticed me or seen me. I wore lots of wigs and contacts now, I missed being myself though. One day I would be able to be myself but not now. I wanted to go to bed early tonight so I made dinner early and watched tv before I crawled into my bed and slowly drifted to sleep.
