Chapter 22

"Now you know I can beat your ass." I said nudging Kai with a small smile. Kai let out a laugh and shook his head.
"Bet I can beat you in an ice bath." He said confidently. I smiled but Jerome laughed loudly.
"You best have muscles of steel. That girl man. The cold does not phase her in an ice bath." Jerome said laughing even harder. "It's the scars, I swear she has cut every nerve ending in her entire body."
Kai's eyes shot to me quickly and I tensed.
"Scars?" Kai asked curiously. Jeromes face said he instantly wanted to take it back.
"I'm so sorry." Jerome said glancing at me quickly.
"It's okay Jerome." I said before turning to Kai. "It's nothing just a few scratches is all."
"I somehow do not believe you. How about we skip the ice bath today. Are you hungry? We also need to run by the store." He said changing the subject. I knew he would eventually see the scars and such but it's not like we were dating or something so I don't know why I was worried about it. I had learned to be okay infront of most strangers.
"Food sounds amazing." I drooled over the thought of food, we had been here for three and a half almost four hours. We had gotten here around 10:30-11 this morning so I was starving. I said goodbyes to Jerome and we left, when we reached the car Kai opened the door for me again.
"You don't have to do that, ya know?" I asked. He smiled as he looked down at me.
"My mom always said 'A man who can't open the door for a woman he cares about, will never be a man.' There will never be a day I don't open the door." He said but I was stuck on the 'for a woman he cares about' part he doesn't know me that well, how could he care about me? He wouldn't once he seen my scars and heard the war stories plus my impending asshole of a husband puts a dink in relationships for most people. He must have noticed he had said it because he quickly shut the door and went to his side, he looked like he was cussing himself out and ran a hand of his face and sighed before getting in and smiling at me.

"Where would you like to go my lady?" He said with a simple smile.
"I have a great idea, head to the mall?" I asked. He smiled and did as I said. When we arrived we got out and walked to the only swim suit store in town and I looked around. I couldn't find any to cover anything, girls these days thrived on covering as little as possible and I needed to cover as much as possible. The best option I found was a mint green one shoulder one piece, it covered from my intimate parts to my belly button, my ribs, and breasts up front with open spots on the belly, between my breasts and one shoulder. The back covered from my bottom to the bottom of my shoulder blades, it'll cover less than I would like but not show as much as most of these others. Kai stared at me as if he understood but there was a hint of pain in his eyes, when I looked down he had picked out a pair of swim shorts for himself so we got our stuff together which he refused to let me pay for but agreed to let me buy food. When we got done we walked to the parking lot and before we could get in the car I grabbed Kai's hand dragging him across the lot to the mexican restaraunt. I was so excited, I love Mexican food.
"Do you like Mexican food?" I stopped out front quickly turning to Kai. I hadn't even asked I just took off. He smiled so big as he watched me.
"Do YOU like Mexican food?" He asked with a laugh.
"I love it. but do you?" I asked with an eyebrow arched in curiosity, his smile grew bigger.
"I, infact, love Mexican food." He said. I smiled so big grabbing his hand and taking off again but he pulled me back before we reached the door so that I would be walking behind him. He didn't let go of my hand as he opened the door for me, allowing me to pull him along again still smiling as he followed. When we got seated I noticed he was watching me from across the table so I glanced up. The waitress approached, she was a beautiful blonde with tan skin obviously from a tanning bed, blue and brown eyes with dark eyebrows and she was flirting with Kai but he paid her no attention.

"What can I get for you?" She asked Kai with a fake sweet voice but he didn't even look at her.
"Give us just a moment." He said still smiling at me. She nodded and walked away, obviously annoyed when she wasn't paid a bit of attention.
"She was flirting with you. I figured she was your type, why did you hurt her feelings?" I said looking at him seriously.
"No offense to her because I'm sure she is pretty to someone else but her box dye hair and soon to be leather skin from a tanning bed wasn't attractive in the slightest bit. Plus the whole 'Hi I'm going to pretend I'm nice so you give me big tips' thing is obnoxious. So no she is not my type." He said watching me.
"Do you want the get a margarita tower with me? It's four different drinks. Margarita Azul, Tamarindo Margarita, Masterpiece Margarita, and a Michelada." I asked curiously.
"I think you can read my mind. Do you know what you want to order?" He asked.
"I'm probably gonna get some nachos." I said. Kai smiled ear to ear again.
"Wanna get the giant nacho platter? If we want different things on it, we can do half and half? I usually only get chips, extra queso, steak, green peppers and tomatoes." He said.
"That is all I get on mine. We can go ahead and order it just like that." I said as I watched him order for us, never glancing at the waitress not even once. We ate our food quickly and headed out the door after paying. I was slightly buzzed as I had drank my four drinks and two of Kai's because he didn't like them, he opened the door to the restaraunt and car for me. We drove back to the house to go swimming. Ember and I had bought a pool and set it up outside few weeks ago. I opened the garage, we pulled in and then we took our stuff inside as the garage door had finished closing. Kai was paranoid he checked the entire house before allowing me to walk farther then 15 feet from the door. When I was aloud to go in, I went to my room and changed into my swim suit and removed my wig before going to the mirror to look and see what he could see. I let my hair fall so it would help cover some more, I looked rather good in a one piece too. I wasn't overweight or anything, I weighed roughly 140 pounds and was 5'3". I had a slender build with generous curves, I was blessed with my body but I also work hard to keep it. I had to wear bra size 40DD and had a heart shaped bubble butt, the rest of my body was petite besides my upper thigh which helped sculp my butt with my thighs. I didn't exactly have an hourglass figured stomach but my waist was rather perfect and I had what I saw as normal arm size, my hand just barely didn't fit around my arm when I grabbed onto it but it did around my wrist.
