I spent the day in blank events . I spoke to Tyson and he told me things were a lot better at home and his sister is coming this side in a week. Rhia is weirdly flirting with me in the morning when I was standing near my locker and when I turned around she locked eyes with then she winked at me.
Roshni and I were listening to music as a way to relieve stress in English class, yes I told her about everything. We've grown so close even though we don't talk all the time.
Now it was lunchtime and Roshni and I headed to the cafeteria where I saw everyone already seated and seemed to be discussing something serious as we approached I realised Selene was telling them all about how everything is my fault.
"Seriously guys, you too Kai, R.H, Tyson, Even Tyson is here" I said . I put the tray on the table "you know what go on Selene go on I actually wanna hear this too" I said and Roshni and I sat down at the table .The table was silent for a moment the Tyson decided to start making jokes.
Tyson leaned back in his chair with a sly smile. “Alright, so Zara’s single-handedly responsible for the apocalypse? Let’s not forget she also started the Great Werewolf War and invented Mondays.”
Kai chuckled, trying to ease the tension. “Right? And probably canceled our favorite show too. Pretty sure she’s got her hands in everything terrible.”
Roshni gave Zara a sympathetic glance, a slight smirk tugging at her lips. “Zara’s clearly been busy with all this world domination and still managing to ace school. Impressive.”
Selene shot them an exasperated look. “This isn’t a joke! People are dying, and she’s been holding onto something that could’ve prevented it.”
Zara took a deep breath, the sarcasm draining from her. “Look, I get it. It was wrong to keep it from everyone. But I didn’t know what I was dealing with. I thought I could figure it out on my own without creating more chaos.”
Zade, who’d been silent, finally spoke up, looking at Zara with a hint of disappointment. “You should’ve trusted us. Or at least told Mr. Henderson sooner. We’re all in this together, whether you like it or not.”
Selene nodded, crossing her arms. “Exactly. But you always think you’re some lone wolf who can handle things alone.”
Zara clenched her fists, trying to keep her anger in check. “And you always think you’re the hero, Selene. Like I’m just the side character in your story. But this isn’t just about you or even me. We’re both in this, whether we want to be or not.”
Tyson jumped in, raising his hands. “Alright, hold up! If you two keep going, we’re going to end up in another cafeteria showdown. How about we agree that Zara made a mistake, but we work together to fix it?”
Selene rolled her eyes but didn’t argue further. “Fine. But next time, we don’t keep secrets. We can’t afford that anymore.”
Zara nodded, glancing around the table. “Agreed. I don't have money anyway.”
As they all continued eating in a slightly tense silence, Zara felt a weight lift slightly. Maybe things weren’t perfect, but it felt good to have finally said her piece. She caught Roshni’s eye and saw a glimmer of pride there, a silent assurance that she’d done the right thing.
After lunch, Roshni pulled her aside. “You okay?”
Zara nodded, her voice softening. “Yeah, actually. Thanks for sticking with me, even when it’s messy.” she said friendly nudging her in the arm.
Roshni grinned. “You’re stuck with me, remember? I’m your ride-or-die.” she said and the hooked arms and both flicked their hair and then walked away
