Chapter 35 : Goodbye Clearview High

Everyone had gotten rest and freshened up and we were all gathered at the Henderson household. Mr Henderson, Mr Brown and Mr Martinez had been briefed about what happened .

They came up with a plan "So here's my take so we'll be going to Lyterion high undercover no one is supposed to know why we are actually there because there might be some hiccups and unnecessary attention drawn to us." I said walking from side to side.

"But you and Selene can't go alone because you're gonna need back up" Kai added

"And it will seem fishy if only the two of you go that side" Zade added .

"That's why you kids are all going to Lyterion high" Mr Henderson said and we all looked in his direction.

"Won't it seem ... I don't know, odd if all ten of us leave?" Simmy asked

"I myself would be suspicious" Rhia added.

"All the werewolves in your school will be headed to Lyterion High" Mr Martins

"Wow... and what will be our excuse for going there?" Rahul asked .

"We already have that figured out" Mr Brown replied

Meanwhile Tyson was just eating an apple. "All you kids have to do is pack your bags Tuesday morning you're going to Lyterion High" Mr Henderson said lastly and it was meeting adjourned the Alphas left the room.

We all looked at each other . "That can't be all... right" Rhiannon said

Everyone then turned to me "What?" I asked and they continued to stare at me. "Fine I'll go find out" I said leaving the room headed to Mr Henderson's study where the Alphas were gathered .

I stood leaning against the door frame "so what's the actual plan?" I asked and they all turned to me I walked further into the room and removed Alex from his seat and sat down.

"I'm not foolish I've done a lot of... Nevermind what I'm trying to say is I can help but you guys have to tell me how  every werewolf leaves school without causing suspicion.

They looked at each other then back at me "well we were gonna sorta like..." Alex said and they looked at each other again.

I caught on and sat back comfortably on the chair and a wicked smile spread across my face " So we're gonna burn down Clearview High, this should be fun" I said creating fire with my hands my eyes turning gold .

Monday morning arrived with an air of tension and excitement so thick it could almost be sliced. I got up early, not because I was nervous, but because the adrenaline of the plan had already kicked in. The house was bustling with everyone preparing, a mix of anxious faces and the occasional smirk here and there. Simmy had this look like she was about to be part of a spy mission, while Kai was muttering to himself about how we’d manage not to get caught.

I walked into the kitchen to find Tyson munching on another apple—no surprise there. He looked up, gave a little mock salute, and grinned. "You ready to light this place up, firestarter?"

“More ready than you’ll ever be,” I smirked, flicking a small flame from my fingers, watching it dance before snuffing it out. “Just keep up and let me handle the flashy parts.”

"Please, I’m the master of subtlety," Tyson replied, taking an exaggeratedly loud crunch from his apple. I rolled my eyes.

We gathered at the Henderson household for a final briefing before heading out to school. Mr. Henderson went over the plan one last time, making sure we all understood our roles. The idea was simple: get everyone in position, act natural, and set things in motion to create enough chaos for a full evacuation without putting anyone at risk.

Kai approached me, a mix of excitement and concern on his face. "You sure about this, Zara? We’re pulling off a massive stunt just to sneak out of Clearview."

I shrugged. “Sometimes, drastic measures are the only measures, Kai. Besides, what’s a little fire between friends?”

He gave a half-smile. “You know, that we could do something less drastic right?” Kai has always been the parent of the group sometimes his parental behaviour is helpful but sometimes makes life 'boring'

“Where’s the fun in that?” I replied with a grin. Then, glancing around at everyone, I added, “Alright, team. Let’s make it look convincing.”

The bell for first period had barely rung when it began. Selene and I waited in the empty hallway near the science labs, far from the classrooms and from prying eyes. I extended my hand, summoning a tiny, contained flame that sparked brighter as I concentrated, letting the golden fire flicker in my palms.

“Ready, Zara?” Selene asked, her face a mix of trepidation and thrill.

“Let’s give them a day they’ll never forget.” With a slow grin, I tossed the flame toward a stack of old papers by the storage room door. Within seconds, smoke started curling up, spreading through the hallway. The fire alarms blared.

I shot Selene a look, and we both bolted out of the hallway as though we’d just stumbled on the chaos.

Zade and Tyson were in the library Tyson shot lightning sparks at the plug causing  a fire while Zade set the books on the last section of the library alight with his fire powers .Tyson and Zade caught up with us, his face the picture of innocence, though I could see the glint in his eye.

Kai and Simmy using their water powers to ensure no one got harmed in the fire and Roshni Rahul Rhiannon and Chase were making sure no one got suspicious.

“Who’d have thought that old school could burn so easily?” Tyson muttered under his breath.

As the smoke grew thicker, students and teachers poured out into the hallways, following the evacuation protocol. I nudged Tyson. “Mission accomplished. Now let’s get moving.”

Everyone gathered outside on the lawn as the fire trucks arrived, and we slipped away quietly, making our way to the back parking lot where our bags were stashed in a few cars. Mr. Henderson, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Martinez were waiting nearby, looking on approvingly.

We didn’t wait around. With a few quick goodbyes to Clearview High, we loaded into the cars and headed for Lyterion High, the new “undercover” mission stretching out ahead of us.

Tyson, Rhia , Simmy and I were in a 4x4 car driven by Mr Maiden . Meanwhile Selene and Zade were driven by Jorja and Mr Henderson since Mr Martins wasn't able to come with. Kai and Chase traveled with Mrs Miller and Mr Brown . Roshni and Rahul were obviously driven by Mr and Mrs Kumar .

One might wonder why I didn't go with Jorja and Mr Henderson ...well I didn't wanna third wheel with Selene and Zade I only wonder how awkward things would be being in the same car as the girl who you like but rejected you and your childhood best friend who's your mate.

The drive to Lyterion was oddly silent. Everyone seemed lost in thought, taking in the reality of what we were doing. Tyson, however, couldn’t resist breaking the silence.

“So,” he said, turning to Simmy with a mock-serious face, “what’s the over-under on us getting our own lockers at Lyterion? I mean, I’d hate to just blend in.”

Rhiannon chuckled. “Yeah, I think we should aim higher—maybe even our own dorm wing.”

I laughed. “Please, they’re lucky to have us. Werewolf transfers. We’ll be legendary by the end of the week.”

We finally pulled up to Lyterion High, our new home for the foreseeable future. The school loomed before us, an imposing building surrounded by tall iron fences and ancient trees. It looked less like a high school and more like some old academy ripped straight from a gothic novel.

As we got out of the cars, I glanced around at the crew. "Woow this is just, wow"
