Zara's POV:

Felix was chilled he was cool and so was Ren . I noticed Selene and Zade walking aside to talk about something. Zade and Selene rejoined the group and Zade approached me and whispered into my ear "Can I talk to you for a sec"

Felix was just staring at us and so was Selene at this point. "Sure" I whispered and we walked away from everyone.

"What's up," I asked, crossing my arms as we found a quiet spot away from the others. Zade seemed unusually tense, his eyes flicking over to Selene before settling on me. He looked like he was about to say something he’d been holding in for a while.

“Zara,” he started, running a hand through his hair, “I know we’re in the middle of this whole prophecy thing, and now with me and Selene… well, the whole mate situation…” He trailed off, looking conflicted. “But I need you to know—I can’t just turn off my feelings for you.”

I held my breath, feeling my pulse quicken even though I’d known this was coming. “Zade…” I tried to keep my tone neutral, reminding myself of Selene, of the fact that he wasn’t supposed to be with me. But he wasn’t done.

“I’ve been trying to get my head around this,” he continued, his voice low and strained. “The idea that Selene is my mate. But it doesn’t feel… real. Being her mate—it’s supposed to be everything, but I can’t shake what I feel for you.”

I swallowed, trying to keep my expression calm. “Zade, you have to understand. This bond with Selene isn’t just something you can ignore. She’s your mate. Whether you like it or not, that means something, and it has to mean more than what you feel for me.” I wanted to sound firm, resolute, but I could hear the slight tremor in my voice. Even I wasn’t fully convinced by my own words.

He shook his head. “But what if it’s not enough? What if being mates with Selene doesn’t make this… whatever this is… disappear?”

“Then make it enough, Zade.” I took a breath, forcing myself to look him in the eye. “You owe it to her, to yourself, to give it a real chance. You’re her mate now, which means I can’t be a part of this—whatever this is between us.” The words felt like they weighed a ton as they left my mouth, but they needed to be said.

Zade’s gaze softened, as if he could sense the struggle behind my words. “So that’s it, then? You’re just going to pretend like none of this happened?”

“Not pretend,” I corrected him. “Move on. You’re with Selene now. You have to shift those feelings, Zade. She deserves someone who’s all in, someone who isn’t holding onto… something else.”

He took a shaky breath, his eyes searching mine. For a moment, I thought he’d argue, but then his shoulders slumped, as if he were finally accepting what I was saying. “I don’t know if I can just let go of it, Zara. But… I’ll try.”

“Good,” I replied, keeping my tone as steady as I could. “That’s all anyone can ask of you.”

But as he turned to rejoin the group, I felt an ache settle in my chest, a reminder of what I’d just given up. Because despite everything, I couldn’t deny that a part of me felt something for him too. I had to bury it, for Selene’s sake, for his. Because no matter how much I might wish otherwise, some things were never meant to be.

We sat in the hall while principal Harris (female) addressed the entire school . I was sitting in the middle of Felix and Aaliyah .

Felix seemed quite interesting he was quiet but clearly there was a story to it and Aaliyah seemed headstrong but nice at the same time I have a feeling she and Felix might be Lyterion high's Selene and Zade... Just joking Felix and Aaliyah don't seem to talk much atleast not like Zade and Selene and Aaliyah is a bit nicer than Selene Selene is nice but hides it from me specifically.

I was worried about Rhia I wonder if she was able to pay her mother's hospital bills ,who was taking care of her younger brother ,on the other side Tyson's sister is coming to Lyterion high in two days. Zoë and Zain I didn't even get to say goodbye, I must admit those kids are missable.
