Chapter 11

Michaels P.O.V

Ashton stopped  at the corner of the street, where me and Calum jumped out and raced towards his house. We needed to be quick.  I checked my watch. 8.30 am. Anne would be up, but Lauren and Harry would still be asleep. Good. 'Okay, remember the plan, Cal. You stall her at the front door, while I sneak around the back, go through the back door, and get the card. Ready?' I explained to Calum. 'Yup' he replied. I grinned at him before running around to the back door.

Lukes P.O.V

We hadn't trusted the boys with whatever plan they had, seeing as they hadn't told us what it was. So, once the boys were gone running to the house, Ashton parked the car and we both got out, sneaking after them. We hid in a bush in Ashtons garden and watched them. I saw Michael talking to Calum, Calum reply with a nod, and then Michael taking off round the back of the house.

Michaels P.O.V

Once I got to the back door, I waited a second, before I saw through the window, Anne going to answer the front door. Once she was out of sight, I lifted the plant pot and snatched the key. That's where they kept their spare key, if ever any of them came home without one. I opened the back door, and sprinted as quietly as possible into the living room. I could hear Calums phone start playing ballet music. Good, he was about to begin his role in the plan. I looked around the room. Shit! I didn't know which floorboard it was! I started with the one on the far side of the wall, sticking the knife underneath it and sliding it all the way across. Nope. Not there. I moved over to the next one. God, I hope we have enough time to find the card.

Calums P.O.V

I knocked on the door three times. And stood, waiting, until finally Anne answered the door. 'Hey, Cal honey, where is everyone else?' Anne smiled politely at me. 'Oh, well, um, they are all still in Lukes house. Look, I need your help with something' I said, faking a nervous look. 'Of course honey! Come in' she smiled, starting to back out of the doorway into the house. 'NO! Um, I mean, I really don't have time to come in, I want to get back to Luke's before anyone notices I'm gone' I stuttered. 'Okay, what's up?' Anne said, leaning against the door frame and giving me a confused look. 'Okay, well, um, I have a dance competition in a few days, and I have to come up with my own dance. But my parents don't know I dance, and neither do the boys, in fact no one knows, and I know I can trust you not to tell anyone... So will you watch my dance and tell me if it's good?' I said, faking embarrassment. 'Of course I will! Oh Calum, you shouldn't be embarrassed! Why don't we go to the living room and watch this dance of yours?' Anne said. I racked my brains for an excuse. 'Oh, no. That would be a bad idea. You see.. um... I need the fresh air of the outdoors while Im dancing. It helps me do better' I mumbled, taking a few steps back onto the grass and stopping in the centre of the garden. 'Um, okay, honey' Anne said, taking a few steps forward, stopping at the edge of the grass. I opened my phone and scrolled through my playlist, tapping on 'ballet music'. Once the music started, I began doing the thing I will regret for the rest of my life...

Ashtons P.O.V

WHAT THE FUCK WAS CALUM DOING?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? There he was, flailing his arms and legs and jumping around, doing mid air twists and putting his hands over his head, arching his arms and making his fingertips touch as he did little twirls on his tippy toes. He looked like a beanstalk. Mom was just standing there, her jaw dropped slightly, her eyes following Calum, probably trying to decide on whether or not he was taking the piss out of her. He went on like this for a further 4 minutes. For his finale, he tried to do a midair jumptwist thing and land in the splits, but that didn't really go his way. Once he had stretched his legs way further then they could naturally go, he grabbed onto his crotch, his face turning a beetroot red, and he fell on his side and curled up into a ball. He let out an inhuman noise as he exhaled. Mom ran over to him and started talking to him. I couldn't hear her but soon she was helping him up and helping him into the house. Once the door was closed, me and Luke started to panic a bit. She cant find Mikey! She cant know the plan! Suddenly, I saw a very happy Michael strut over to the bush. 'Sup' he smiled. 'Did you get it?' Luke asked, looking hopeful. 'Of course I did!' Michael laughed, pulling it out of his pocket. He handed it to me, and I looked at it, reading the name on it. 'Irwin' was all it said. No first name. Weird, but oh well. Michael shot Calum a text saying it was time to go, and as soon as Calum had joined us in the bush we all made our way back to the car. 'Okay, what do we do for now, until he calls?' I asked the boys. We all looked at each other. 'POKEMON RERUNS AT MICHAELS PLACE' we all shouted in unison. We drove away towards Michaels house

I was stretched across the bottom of the bed, staring up at michaels TV. 'GO ON PIKACHU!!!' we all chorused. It was nearly time for Nova's dad to call. We still couldn't believe it was her dad wole kidnapped her. Sadistic creep.

Suddenly, my phone started ringing. I immediately answered it.

'Hello?'

'Ashton! Good to talk to you again'

'Go fuck yourself, where can we meet you?'

'Oh, you found the card?'

'Yes, now tell me where to go!'

'Meet me behind the old church, down that alleyway.'

'I'll be there in 5.'

'See you then'

I hung up on him, not bothering to say goodbye. I jumped up off the bed, grabbed my keys and my fake card and turned to look at the boys. 'Let's go get Nova back.'

We parked just at the opening to the alleyway, for a quick escape. 'You guys ready for this?' I asked. 'Of course' they replied. 'Lets go then'  I said, getting out of the car. The boys followed suit. We carefully made our way down the dark alley. 'Hello?' Luke called. 'Ah, you're here' a man said, emerging from the shadows, 'well, Nova come on out.'

A small, shaky Nova tiptoed about from behind Jared. She was bruised all over. 'Hand me the card and you can have Nova back' he smiled evilly. I fumbled in my pocket for the fake card. Once I had it, I looked at it to make sure it was the fake one, and started walking over to him slowly. Once I was standing right in front of him, I slapped the card into his hand, and grabbed Nova's arm, pulling her over to Luke as fast as possible. 'Go, NOW!' I shouted. Nova looked terrified. Luke picked her up and carried her bridal style to the car. 'What's going on?' Jared asked angrily. 'I gave you a fake card' I said blankly. 'You WHAT?!' he roared. I smirked, pulling out the real one. 'I will give it to you, but you have to promise me a few things' I say firmly. 'Pitch it to me, quick, and I will think about it' he replies. 'No, you WILL do as I tell you, otherwise this card will never be yours' I shout. After a long pause, he gives in. 'Fine' he grumbles. 'Okay, first, you will never ever try to contact us or Nova again. Second, get the hell out of Australia. Move back to Ireland, or anywhere I don't care. And last, never come near me, my friends, my family, or Nova EVER again or else you will have hell to pay, got it?' I said. He looked at me angrily, before giving in. 'Fine, I'll be out of Australia by next week' he answers. 'Good' I say, handing him the real card and walking away. 'Nice to see you again, Ashton, haven't seen you since you were a small kid' he shouts after me. 'Yeah fuck you' I reply, getting into the car and driving back to Michaels.
