The city lights flickered in the night, illuminating the ruins of the battlefield. Collapsed skyscrapers, fire, and smoke rose toward the sky like silent shadows, witnesses to a battle no one would ever forget.
Chuuya, the number one superhero, was on the ground, his breathing labored. His body trembled from the effort of keeping his gravitational powers active, which had saved him multiple times that night. In front of him, motionless like a dark statue, stood the figure of Dazai Osamu, the most feared of villains.
“Why are you doing this, Dazai?” Chuuya shouted, clenching his fists. “We were partners once… Why did you become like this?”
Dazai smiled with a shadow of malice in his eyes. “Partners? Oh, Chuuya, we’ve always had different visions of the world. I see the truth, and that truth is that humans are easy to control. Like you, Chuuya.”
Chuuya’s heart skipped a beat. “I’m not like them. You can’t control me.”
Dazai took a step forward, his smile widening. “Oh, we’ll see about that.” He raised a hand and, with a slow gesture, removed the bandage covering his right eye.
Chuuya tensed. He knew what would happen if he looked too long. Dazai possessed a terrifying power, capable of controlling minds and altering memories. A single look into his eyes, and anyone could become a puppet in his hands.
“I… I won’t let you,” Chuuya hissed, clenching his teeth as his gravitational powers intensified, making the ground beneath them tremble. The air around him filled with tension, as if the earth itself feared what was about to happen.
But Dazai didn’t seem the least bit impressed. “Oh, Chuuya. Even gravity can’t save you from yourself.” His tone was hypnotic, each word a poison seeping into his former partner’s mind.
The superhero stepped forward, his blue eyes filled with determination. “I have to stop you, even if it costs me everything.”
But Dazai was already ready. With a quick, fluid motion, he grabbed Chuuya’s face and forced him to look into his eyes. For an instant, the world seemed to stop. Chuuya’s expression changed.
“Don’t look…” he whispered to himself, but it was too late.
Chuuya’s memories began to fade, replaced by images he didn’t recognize. His will wavered, reality and illusion mixing in a chaotic whirl.
Dazai leaned close to his ear and whispered, “You’ve always been mine, Chuuya. And now, you always will be.”
