Seeing Dazai lose consciousness, Chuuya wasted no time. He picked him up gently but decisively and carried him to the bed. His heart was pounding, but not from fear. His mind was clear, determined to do whatever it took to save Dazai.
He immediately grabbed some bandages, a sterilized needle, and thread. His movements were precise, calculated, as if he had performed this kind of operation a million times. He carefully disinfected the wound, gritting his teeth every time Dazai's body twitched slightly from the pain, even though he was unconscious. After stitching the wound, he wrapped Dazai's abdomen with clean bandages and stopped the bleeding.
Finally, Dazai woke up, his eyes slowly opening. Chuuya was watching him closely, sitting beside him with a bottle of water ready. “Stay down,” he ordered firmly, his tone authoritative but filled with concern. He handed Dazai the water, and he drank slowly, weakly.
After a few moments of silence, Chuuya could no longer hold back the question echoing in his mind. “What the hell happened, Dazai?” His voice was low but heavy with tension.
Dazai sighed, leaning back against the pillows. “A cop spotted me while I was gathering information. He started shooting, and… well, I was unlucky enough to get hurt while trying to escape.”
Chuuya clenched his fists, a deep anger stirring within him. “A cop… tried to kill you.” His words dripped with venom. “How could they do something like that? Aren’t you a person too? Bastards. Who do they think they are, trying to take you down like an animal?!”
His mind filled with images of those cops—their arrogance, their lack of scruples. The anger burned inside him, and only the sight of Dazai lying in front of him kept that fury from exploding. Dazai, with a tired smile, watched him. “Chuuya…” he murmured before sleep claimed him once again. He drifted off, sinking back into a deep, healing slumber.
Chuuya stayed there, by his side, the anger still burning in his chest, ready to erupt against anyone who dared to threaten Dazai.
