Finally, after months of torment, Dazai decided it was time to release Chuuya from his mental block. The tension in the air was palpable as he approached the monitor, ready to end the relentless cycle of colors and sounds that had held Chuuya captive.

With a simple motion, Dazai turned off the monitor and removed the headphones from Chuuya’s ears. The blinding lights faded, leaving an almost surreal silence in the room. Chuuya stayed still, his eyes closed for a moment, trying to adjust to the new darkness. He was free, yet he felt no urge to stand or retaliate.

The new Chuuya no longer knew anger. He was simply relieved that the torment was over. He slowly opened his eyes, savoring the sense of calm. He felt tired, but in a way that made him feel safe, as if he could finally rest.

Dazai, watching his beloved with a satisfied smile, stepped closer. “Hey, how are you feeling?” he asked, his voice sweet and melodic, as if speaking to a frightened child.

Chuuya looked at him, a peaceful expression on his face, though a slight hint of confusion glimmered in his eyes. “How do you think I feel?” he replied in a tone of indifference that surprisingly held no resentment.

Dazai chuckled, moving closer still. “Don’t worry, Chuuya. Soon, all the bad memories will disappear. You won’t have to worry about anything anymore. You’ll be free to be happy.”

Dazai’s words echoed in Chuuya’s mind, a melodic song wrapping around him like a warm blanket. To be happy… He didn’t know exactly what it meant, but the idea seemed pleasant. It was as if part of him wanted to accept this new state, longing not to struggle anymore.

Dazai’s presence was reassuring, and for the first time in months, Chuuya felt like he could trust someone. “Everything’s going to be okay, right?” he asked, his voice a bit stronger now, but still vulnerable.

“Absolutely,” Dazai replied, resting a hand on his face in an affectionate gesture. “There’s nothing left to fear. We’re together now. I’ll protect you.”

With these words, Dazai pulled back slightly, giving Chuuya time to absorb the meaning of what was happening. Chuuya felt a warm sensation spreading in his heart, as if an invisible bond between them had grown stronger.

To be happy… he repeated in his mind, as he slowly allowed himself to embrace the new calm that Dazai was promising.

But deep inside, a tiny seed of doubt began to sprout, a faint voice questioning whether he could truly trust Dazai and his words. Yet, for now, Chuuya decided to let it go, embracing the tranquility he had finally managed to find.
