Chapter 23

(Johnnie's POV)

"Jake?"

I couldn't believe my eyes, was I in a coma? 

All the thoughts I had had about Jake's safety vanished, as if they had all turned insignificant the second Jake's eyes aligned with mine.

Before I knew it Jake had lunged himself onto me, hugging me tightly, and my arms automatically made their way up to hug him back. Tears were swelling in my eyes, they were happy tears, but they also felt like... like when you have a drug that you haven't had in a long time, and it just makes it intensified. 

We didn't say anything, we just stood there, hugging onto each other like we were the only life lines we had. 

(5 minutes later, yes, they stood there for 5 minutes 😌, Jake's POV)

We sat next to each other on the worn down motel bed, normally, I would make a dirty joke about why a bed in this condition was worn down, but, right now, I wasn't even thinking anything dirty. We still weren't saying anything, so I decided to finally start off the conversation.

"I've missed you" I said while smiling at him.

"Me too, more than anything".

"So, then why did you leave- actually, never mind... I already know the answer to that. I-I'm sorry Johnnie!"

"For what?"

"I-I broke my promise, I promised you that if you were to go, I would keep living my life as if I never knew you... b-but I couldn't do it, I couldn't do it Johnnie!"

"I know, and I understand. It was unfair for me to even ask that of you, I could barley do that myself."

(Johnnie's POV)

I could feel the amount of guilt Jake was feeling, that was another perk of being a vampire, we couldn't just read minds, we were also serious empaths, however, only on people we knew...

I raised my hand to Jake's cheek, and he lifted his hand placing it over my own and closing his eyes. 

"I loved you Johnnie".

"I love you too".

Heyyyy, sorry, I was gonna do more with this chapter, but I wasn't in the watpad writing mood, which if you've read my watpad story making tips book, one of the notes I put in there was about how you shouldn't do too much writing when your not in the mood to, however, I did still need to release something, so- 😀🙂🙃
