Hello Doc
In quiet Lenora Hills, the commotion in the house had slowly died down and Murray was settling down on the living room couch.
Joyce was washing dishes when Will approached her unexpectedly and said -I'll help you- she replied -Oh, no, no need, go help Mike, you'll have a lot to talk about with each other-
Will, trying to control the displeasure on his face, replied -He's already settled in, and you have to fly out early tomorrow- in a neutral tone.
She noticed something in his expression, but decided not to probe further and replied -well I'll take you at your word, thanks darling-
He starts to scrub while she dries her hands and pretends to leave the kitchen, when the phone rings, she picks it up and says -hello...- her expression changes completely to one of seriousness and continues -yes... I understand, yes... look, now I don't think it's a good... well-
Then she turns to Will and offers him the phone saying -it's for you, just try not to take long- Will noticed that her tone was annoyed, for reasons he didn't understand, he preferred not to delve into it and just dry his hands.
After he had it in his hands, Joyce went to her room, with a somewhat "awkward" step, Will brought it close to his ear and asked -hello?- a familiar voice said from the other side -hello Doc-
He with a smile from ear to ear answered -hey... hello, how are you?-
Wendy laughs a little and answers -everything here is fine, my mother is... you know, but everything is fine- then she began to cough.
He asked very worried - are you okay? - she answers - yes, yes, you know, just the changes in weather... and how are you? Did the move help you? -
The boy answers sitting on the floor - yes, things are much more "calm" here, I think I'm adjusting well, I joined the art club and my teacher said that my technique has improved a lot -
She says - I'm very happy to hear it... can you believe that this year I almost forgot? I don't know where my head is lately - that makes an expression of pain cross the young man's face.
They just stood there for a while, listening to each other's breathing, until Wendy finally said -Well, I think I should go now... it must be almost time for bed there-
He sadly answers, -Yeah, it seems that way...-
Wendy says goodbye with a -Happy Birthday- and then the sound of the phone is heard.
Danny answers, -Bye... Mom- and a couple of solitary tears slide down his face.
A little tearjerker I know, but I think it would make a great post-credits scene... and make EVERYONE in that room (except Eddie) feel like shit.
