Obviously I won
Once Will returns he plays the tape again, in which his young self is seen playing with his strollers in a hallway, arranging them perfectly in the geometric shape of the mat.
Suddenly a tennis ball appeared and gently collided with the strollers. The boy began to walk down the hall calling for his mother, when he reached a certain open door, even with the key still in the lock.
Everyone exhaled nervously when they saw the number, 227, everyone was shocked to see the little one getting closer and closer to the door, Joyce was even biting her nails.
Will, unlike before, where he only looked indifferently at the screen, now looked agitated, and his hand even trembled. Jonathan put a hand on his shoulders and whispered -Are you okay?-
This annoying man takes his hand away from him and says just as quietly -yes, let's just get this over with...- looking angrily at him, although Jonathan didn't know why, while he watched him drink almost the entire glass in one gulp.
Everyone sighed both disappointed and relieved when the scene changed, showing Wendy following her normal routine of a to-do list with the hotel machinery.Max then asks angrily - isn't that what Jack is supposed to do?
After hearing Jack's screams, Wendy runs in and finds him at her desk having a panic attack/nightmare.
Hearing Jack's speech about her nightmares took everyone to a new level of horror and caused his head to begin to fill with ideas and theories.
And the moment came that changed the way everyone was watching this movie, and the way they were watching Will too, suddenly a lot of things made sense.
Wendy told Danny to leave, and the boy, as if hypnotized, only got closer and closer, until Wendy approached him, and with a turn from the little boy, everyone could see the marks on her neck.
To say that everyone was horrified was an understatement, they were totally petrified, except for a few light tears that were beginning to form in their eyes.
They watched silently as Wendy picked up the child and took him away from the place while she screamed, blaming Jack.
Before the scene could change, Joyce snatches the remote control from her youngest son to pause, who offered minimal resistance, and looking at him she demanded to know -HE DID IT?... THAT DAMN BASTARD DARE TO PUT HIS HANDS ON YOU?-
Will, with a disturbingly indifferent expression, shrugged his shoulders and asked -why do you want to know?... that happened a long time ago and obviously I won... What's the point?-
That was quite an interesting choice of words, which many noticed.
Joyce, now much more upset, reproaches him -What's the point? You were hiding this from us for 10 years, from me, from your brother, from the psychologists... how could you do this to us?-
Will, already with the same angry tone, responds -ha, but what a hypocrite... if something has been clear so far, it is that none of these films is a romantic drama, so you tell me, what are we going to find in "Beetlejuice"?-
They stare at each other, as only a mother and her teenage son can, until Will finally opens his mouth and says -I'm not going to apologize-
Joyce responds immediately -I didn't ask you to do it- Will responds just as quickly -then get that face off-
She asks him, already very upset -Which face?- and he shouts -THAT FACE OF "PLEASE APOLOGIZE WILL, SO I CAN TELL YOU THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO APOLOGIZE" YOU DO IT MORE AND MORE, AND I'M ALREADY SICK OF IT-
At that moment Jonathan gets up and shouts -HEY... DON'T TALK TO MOM LIKE THAT...- but just before he could say more Will also gets up and shouts at the top of his lungs -HERE'S JOHNNY-
Although everyone knew that "technically" Will was now taller than Jonathan, now seeing it firsthand, facing each other, with nowhere else to look, was something very different, especially for Jonathan, who still tried his best. to suppress his surprise.
And he grabbed his brother's arm to say - let's talk in the room... - in a formal tone, but Will removes his hand quite abruptly and responds with a cruel laugh - ho, have you already started your act as the little man of the house? ?...now imitating your new daddy, I admit, most comedy routines lose their charm quickly, but you kept this one up for 10 years... exactly as ridiculous and pathetic as the first day-
Jonathan, perplexed but now more annoyed, opens his mouth, but before saying anything, Will continues -now comes another motivational speech about the wonders of being a weirdo, a stalker without friends, right?-
It could be said by some, that Jonathan's hand moved on its own when it hit Will's cheek, mainly because of Jonathan himself, who, scared, took a step back and looked at his own hand in dismay.
Joyce still stood up and shouted -JONATHAN- trying to get closer, everyone else was still silent, not even Hopper or 11 saw a good idea to intervene in any way.
Instead of becoming desperate like he normally does, or trying to attack his brother like he had just done with Mike, Will simply laughed a dull laugh, the truth sounding more painful than funny.
And then he said -hooo, this really brings back memories, doesn't it, Johnny?- everyone was shaken by the implication, mainly Jonathan himself, but Will continued -you know?... the movie is good, but it lacks context... How about we give them to them?-
Jonathan unconsciously took a step back and Will continued -I'm sure Mom would love to hear it, right? - then he turns to look at the rest and asks - Hasn't anyone wondered why the Torrances didn't take him too?-
That actually made many people think, they hadn't even thought about it until that moment, Joyce was more scared than curious and asked - children... what are you talking about?
Will shrugs and says - maybe it'll come up in some flashback here or in his movie, but I have a better idea... how about we end this shit so we can all go to hell?... at least until that it's time to fleece someone else-
And before anyone could say anything I took control and pressed play.
This came out a little longer than I thought, but I didn't see a way to cut it at any time, and just in case you're wondering, the one who spoke this whole chapter was just Will, Danny no longer wants to exist for now.
This chapter is a message to everyone in the fandom who insists that Jonathan was some kind of father figure to Will, and the message is "don't say stupid things."
I admit it, Jonathan is a very committed brother and he clearly TRYING to fill that role, he even seems very jealous of Joyce's partners, but he and Will have only been together for 3 years.
It's one of the things I liked about season 4 that everyone hates, by taking a little pressure off of Jonathan we finally got to see that he's just another traumatized kid... and he has the right to be.
Criticism and comments are welcome.
