Like drawings in a book
Dick Hallorann looks at little Danny in front of him and asks - do you know how I knew they called you "Doc"? - the boy just stares at him with a bored expression.
He asked again - do you know what I'm talking about? - to which the boy simply shrugged his shoulders.
The head cook responds - I still haven't forgotten, when I was a small child, my grandmother and I could have conversations that should have lasted entire hours in just a few minutes and without ever having to open our mouths, and for a long time I thought that only we We both had the ability, surely you also thought you were the only one in the world, right?-
Danny, much more interested, asked -What is it?- Hallorann responds smiling -the Bible calls it "the flame of the holy spirit", scientists call it "parapsychological abilities", my grandmother called it "the shining"... What do you call it?-
The boy responds -Tony, it's the little boy who lives in my mouth- Hallorann can't help but smile at the boy's innocent perspective and asks -well tell me... Has Tony ever shown you things that haven't happened yet?- the boy He nods and explains -it's like he shows me things when I go to sleep, but when I wake up, I don't remember everything-
Hallorann nods and asks - but not everything is fulfilled, right? - the little boy shakes his head and answers - not always, once he showed me that I would have a younger sister, but that won't happen, because my old parents hate each other and the new's they can't have babies-
Dick says -you're adopted- it wasn't a question, the boy answered -my family broke up and the government gave me a new one- and he took another spoonful of ice cream so as not to talk anymore, then he asked -are there more like us?-
The man responds -yes, you come across them from time to time, although most do not know it, or rather "they do not want to know"... look, the truth is that everything alive shines a little, people, animals, even the plants... but not much, they are like Christmas lights, but not the big ones that you put outside in the windows, but the small ones that you use to decorate those tiny Christmas trees that they put on the tables-
The little boy laughs a little before the joke and Hallorann continued -from time to time you come across someone who is a light from outside, people who have guessed lottery numbers several times, doctors or police officers who are VERY good at their jobs... I humbly I think I'm like one of the light bulbs inside a microwave... but you, little friend, are a theater reflector, the biggest one I've seen so far-
No one mentioned more about it, until Hallorann decided to get to the point and ask - do your parents know about Tony... do they know that he shows you things? - the boy shakes his head and answers - no, Tony told me to never tell them -
Dick asks -and your first parents? Did anyone shine?- The boy shrugs his shoulders and says -I think my mommy sometimes... I don't know- and he eats more ice cream, Hallorann then asks -What about your brother?-
Annoyed Danny says -I don't know... I don't care- the cook comments -Siblings can be difficult...- but the boy quickly commented -I don't want to talk about him...he's bad and I hate him-
Dick let him calm down and then asked -and tell me, has "Tony" ever shown you anything about this place... about the Overlook Hotel?
Danny simply shrugged his shoulders and responded -he showed me something maybe...- Dick, knowing that time was running out, said -reflect Doc, think about it very carefully, are you sure?- but suddenly Danny asked -Mr. Hallorann... are you afraid? here?-
Hallorann is silent for a moment and then responds -no, nothing scares me here...- the boy's expression made it very clear that he did not believe him.
Dick sighed and added - look what happens is that places are like people, some have a force underneath that makes them shine more than others, you could say that the Overlook Hotel has something like a shining, if it does... there is other places like that, a small town in Maine and two connected cities in Ohio also have it-
But the boy stared at him and asked, -Is there something wrong here?- the man reflects for a moment on how to respond and says - well, sometimes things happen and leave a trace behind them, like burns on a bread, they are not things that people notice, but those of us who shine notice them, they are like... - the child suggests -a drawing-
Hallorann regains her smile for a moment and answers -yes, exactly, like a drawing in a book, the Overlook is an old place and many things happened here, and some were not good... what you have to remember is that they are not real and they can't hurt you-
Danny asks - what about room 2 2 7? - Dick stared at him in dismay, about to ask how he knew, but it was already quite obvious, Danny asked -there is something in room 2 2 7, right, Mr?-
The cook shakes his head and says firmly -nothing... there is NOTHING, in the room 227... and YOU have nothing to do there, nor in any of the other rooms, so don't come in, NEVER come in, understand?- He stares at him until the boy finally nods his head.
Hallorann softens her tone a little and says -the Overlook may not be the safest place for a child with the glare, but your father really needs the job, right?-
Danny nods and answers -yes, Jack and Wen... dad and mom think I don't know, but if he doesn't finish and sell his book in time he won't get his job back and they won't be able to adopt me, and... I'll have to go back to... to the center of...-
Dick noticed that his hands were shaking and a tear escaped from his eyes, there he understood that he was on dangerous ground and said -hey, hey, I know what we're going to do Doc... I'll return to the Overlook a little earlier than planned, in March, and So we'll talk more about all this and I'll tell you more about those shining places, okay?-
The boy smiles and nods, Hallorann said -your parents are coming, and one last thing Doc...- he looks him in the eyes and says -Tony is right about you having to keep your glow a secret, there are certain rumors of people from the government looking for children with strong auras, so remember to be careful, promise?-
Danny nods and Hallorann can only pat his head, hoping he's making the right decision.

I think I should clarify that this will not be a "watching" (how lazy) these are just some ideas that I have that can be applied (or not) to the original story, and I hope they are taken into account, nothing more.
This was a conversation I did with parts of the original movie, the mini-series and added a bit of my own perspective fitting it all into the universe already established by "Squirrel_Tail22".
Now I think we all agree that the Byers are the most united family in all of "Stranger Things" yes, but I wanted to raise the possibility that this beautiful union not only arose from a blood connection but from something much deeper, forged in fire and pain.
But as always, criticism and comments are welcome.
