They're not going anywhere

Wendy looked at Jack's worksheets in dismay, repeating the same phrase to herself, over and over and over again.

Lucas says completely scared -he's been writing the same phrase for MONTHS- at that moment everyone understood that Jack's problems were much deeper than they all believed now that they could see the fourth dimension of them.

Then Jack appears on the scene and Wendy reacts scared, Jack finally asks -What are you doing here?-

Wendy, visibly disturbed, stammers, -I... I don't remember anymore- seeing Jack's increasingly aggressive expression.

He reacts by mocking her and getting closer to her, who in turn backs away to keep her distance.

Somehow "Tony" could hear the conversation from the room, hearing Jack's voice with a very different tone, as if something evil was speaking "for" him.

At the same time, images of the hotel began to appear in his mind, like warnings that the moment was approaching.

Finally, Jack asks, angrily and also mockingly -What are we going to do with the little one?-

Wendy, very obviously hurt by the answer he is about to give, reacts and says -I think that... I think that... we should return him-

Jack, very visibly furious, asks -return him where?- Wendy, hiccupping, answers -with... with... I think we should return him to his... to his mother-

Clearly these words were very painful for Wendy to say, but Jack didn't seem moved by them, in fact he only got angrier and asked, -What?-

Wendy pleads, -Jack... please- although it seemed more like a plea for herself and not for the child, Jack answers, -do you think he would be better off with them than with us?-

She, gathering her courage from who knows where, nods and says -yeah... I don't... I don't think we're ready-

Jack mocks, repeating -I don't think we're ready... so tell me my love, WHEN THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE'LL BE?-

Wendy answers -MAYBE NEVER... maybe if we haven't had children... it's because we shouldn't have-

Those words touched Joyce's heart. She wouldn't deny that, because of jealousy and past resentments, she always had a great deal of animosity towards Wendy, but now that she saw everything she went through, that was changing.

Jack then began to rant about his responsibilities and how he agreed to take care of the hotel until May 1st.

Wendy began to walk up the stairs backwards with Jack following closely behind her, she desperately waved the bat, begging him not to hurt her.

As Jack continued to follow her around threatening her in a rather calm and pleasant tone, completely disconnected from reality.

Finally, almost by mistake, Wendy hits him and he falls down the stairs.

That was a moment that left everyone breathing a sigh of relief, then they saw Wendy dragging Jack's body across the floor to the storage room.

Once the door closes, Dustin says bluntly -You stay in here until you're no longer insane- which everyone agreed with.

Jack tries to convince Wendy to open the door with threats, lies and emotional blackmail, but she flatly refuses.

She promises to get "Danny" away from the hotel and then return with help for Jack, which the group found very brave of her.

But then Jack mockingly replies - you're in for a surprise my love... they're not going anywhere -

Wendy runs desperately to the garage amidst the disconcerting glacial atmosphere that enveloped everything around her.

Once she finally arrives, she finds the snow-trac and the family's white Volkswagen totally ruined and frozen beyond repair.

I don't have much to say about this chapter, except that I hope you'll recognize the subtle details I added, but that's all.
