(I recommend rereading the chapter "He is just what we were looking for" before continuing)

I would do anything for him

Jack walked through the hallways of the Overlock, shifting uncomfortably every time he passed a mirror, as if he couldn't bear to look at himself.

He arrives at the golden room and walks to the empty bar. When he sits down on the bench, when he looks up he expects to find himself alone looking at the mirror, he begins to talk to himself, until when he turns around he finds a bartender properly dressed and behind him, bottles and bottles full of liquor.

The bartender asked in his hollow and monotonous tone -yes, that's right Mr. Torrance. What do you like to drink? - Jack continues talking to the waiter, Lloyd pours a glass from a very familiar bottle and curiously Jack talks to the waiter as if he already knew it. I would have known long before.

Jack drinks the drink that shouldn't exist and his expression changes to one that is more angry and less amused.

Lloyd asks how things are going and Jack starts making quite misogynistic comments about his wife, and suddenly says -don't even touch him damn it, I couldn't touch a hair on his damn little head... I LOVE THAT SON OF A BITCH... I'd do whatever. out for him, anything for him... after all we waited for him-

Jack, after taking a breath, continues saying angrily - that damn dry bitch... he's never going to let me forget what happened... yeah, I hurt him a little, do you know how much it cost to replace all the damn tires?... besides, that little idiot didn't even count as a child, I was about to turn 16...-

He takes another drink from his glass and continues - 20 years ago I would be rewarded for correcting a student like that... do you really think I'm capable of doing something like that to a small child? Does he think I'm a damn animal like his biological father? Like my father?... most couples wait 9 months for a child, we wait 9 damn years, they finally give us one and we're about to lose it and he acts like it's all my damn fault-

At that moment Wendy comes running and calling him.

Well, I know it's VERY short, but I seriously think that this part should be separated from the rest to properly capture what I want to achieve in the next chapter.

By the way, from the next chapter, we will enter very strong SPOILERS for "Dr. Sleep", so if you have not read the book or at least seen the movie, I would suggest that you do so to be able to fully enjoy the Nexus event raised by "Squirrel_Tail22" in his original fic.

As always, criticism and comments are welcome.
