It's not our problem
Federal agent Underhill and Kaitlynn Rogers walked down a dark hallway made of bricks, to a metal door, she asks -Sir, have you seen where we sent them? Shouldn't we report this to Brenner?-
Her superior dismisses the question with a wave of his hand and answers -My grandmother used to say "if you get paid to clean the pigsty, you don't have to kill the pig"-
She asks -What does that mean?-
He laughs and answers - it means darling, that Brenner is "a boss", yes, but he is not "our boss" and he is definitely not "THE BOSS"... besides, he is going to drive in front of his house every day, if he is not able to see them, it's not our problem-
Then they open the door, inside Jonathan, Trevor and Hannah were already waiting for them, the man says - finally, we have been here for days... are you coming from the embassy? -
The cell contained two bunk beds, a long table and a bathroom at the back, it was clearly used for very long interrogations.
Underhill answers -ho, we come from the American government, that's for sure- in a threatening tone.
Rogers then intervenes -first things first, the child is coming with me- Trevor and Hannah stand between them and the child, as a shield and Trevor mentions -that's not going to be possible, the child is staying with me, until I can return him to my sister-in-law-
She takes a folder of papers out of her briefcase, handing them to Trevor, who takes them and reads their contents in amazement, then passes them to Hannah and leans down to be at the child's height and says -bud, please I need you to go with her-
This unbeliever says to him - What? Of course not... we're in this together - Hannah after reading says - the professor is right Nathan, don't worry about us -
Trevor says - she can take you to Elizabeth... - the boy denies and says - no, I don't want to... - but the professor finishes -... and then she will take you to your mother -
He asks surprised - really? - Trevor nods and Hannah adds - we'll be fine, Nathan, go home-
The boy with some hesitation walks towards the door where Kaitlynn guides him out, the last thing the boy hears before the door closes is Underhill telling the two adults -you better sit down... this is going to take a while- in a rather serious tone.
Jonathan and Kaitlynn walked down a dark hallway and she explained -I'll take you to the airport, take you to Boston, where Elizabeth Anderson will be waiting for you and she will take you back to Indiana-
He asks -did you already know we were going to leave through there?- she asks -what do you mean?-
Jonathan explains -less than an hour after we left and the soldiers arrived there to point their guns at us... they even had a huge truck to take the skull, so either they were already waiting for us... or they have a military base nearby, ready to act if anything comes out of there-
She answers -well, well, you're a very smart kid, I really don't know... the Italians take care of their special places and we take care of ours, I wouldn't think twice if I were you-
Jonathan asks -What's going to happen to Trevor and Hannah?- Rogers answers -they're going to be offered a "job", if they accept everything will be fine for them...-
The boy asks -what if not?- she doesn't answer and he prefers not to ask again.
They arrive at a kind of reception and she says -now I need you to sign this paper and everything is ready-
Nathan asks intrigued -what is it for?- to which she answers -it only says that you can't talk about what you saw, you never went to Iceland and you're not in Italy either, if anyone... including Elizabeth Anderson asks, you'll say that you and Trevor Anderson went to see the Grand Canyon-
He asks - Why? - she breathes and answers - look Jonathan, I know this is hard to understand, but you should never have gone down there, if people find out that this place exists they will want to go and that will make the... "creatures" that live there angry, the best thing for everyone is that people don't come near, do you understand right? -
Nathan visibly upset and frustrated nods and begins to sign, knowing that he has no other option, to which she to top off her triumph adds - see? I told you that you were very smart... - and she strokes his hair.
The boy turns and looks behind a desk at his backpacks, and hesitantly asks - can I take a couple of my things? - she indifferently reviews the papers and says - anything but the rolls of your camera, yes, go ahead... –
Jonathan walks to the table and takes the camera, checking if there was film inside. When he sees that there isn't, he hangs it around his neck and takes Max's compass and a very large diamond into his hands.
But when she sees him with both hands raised, she says -just one of the two- without even paying attention to what he was holding in his hands.
The boy looks at his two hands with doubt and exhales sadly.
At the airport in Boston, Elizabeth approaches him and asks -Hi, did you have fun at the Grand Canyon?- He just nods and follows her to his car.
She says, -We're staying in a hotel tonight and tomorrow morning we're leaving for Hawkins. I'm so happy for you. I knew everything would work out, I just didn't think it would work out so fast-
The boy says, -Uncle Trevor is sending you something- and takes the compass out of his jacket.
In this universe Brenner drove by the house of a boy every day with a HUGE psychic power that he was never aware of, I found it funny and wanted to point it out.

And go even further into the paranoia that the governments of the world are conspiring to hide supernatural events, to make sure that John and Jane Doe focus on important things, like hating Russians and paying their taxes.
