I think this is yours

Will was playing the game of "snakes and ladders" with a nurse, when they saw Stuart Ullman approaching followed by two other suited figures, these show their official badges and indicate that they are going to see Mrs. Torrance, to which the nurse nods.

The three enter the room and come across a Wendy who was looking out the window absorbed, she upon noticing their presence turns to look at them, it is the hotel manager who mentions -good afternoon Wendy, I don't know if you remember me...-

She thinks for a moment and asks -Mr. Ullman, right?- to which he nods and says -he is agent Underhill- addressing an elderly man who shows his identification and he in turn says -nice to meet you Mrs. Torrance, this is my assistant Kaitlynn Rogers- introducing the youngest woman of the group.

She says -it's a pleasure Mrs. Torrance, we would like to...- but Wendy asks interrupting her -did you find Jack?-

The agent answers -unfortunately not...we searched the entire hotel, the maze and the surrounding areas, but we only found Mr. Hallorann's body-

Ullman comments -poor Dick, by the way...any idea what he was doing there? Did you contact him?-

Wendy shook her head and replied -no... I, no-

To which Kaitlynn adds -it must have been her son- Wendy immediately answers -Will? but the phones weren't working and he doesn't know how...-

But Ullman interrupts her -well, regardless of how it happened, I and the rest of the board are truly sorry about the whole situation, of course the payment of your contract will be deposited in full, plus a bonus-

Wendy somewhat doubtfully says -it's good to know, but...- but Ullman continues -and look, some of our partners would feel more comfortable if this difficult situation didn't reach the public-

She asks confused -do you want me to... lie?- Underhill tells her -not lie, just don't mention the incident, anyway isolation can cause strange things in people's minds, it's going to be difficult to reconstruct exactly what happened-

Wendy says -I think it would be better if...- but Kaitlynn says -besides we're not offering you this for nothing in return, Mrs. Torrance- and offers her a folder that she takes out of her briefcase.

She takes the paper and reads what it says, then mutters in surprise -I don't understand-

The document was an adoption certificate, already fully signed and sealed, only Wendy's signature was missing.

Underhill says -just sign this confidentiality agreement and ALL your problems will be solved- passing her a pen and another document.

Wendy looks at the papers for a moment and then said -I can't...- Kaitlynn steps forward and begins -Mrs. Torrance, I don't think you understand...- but she doesn't finish her sentence because her superior put a hand on her shoulder with more force than required.

Something that Wendy apparently didn't notice, because she still looked at the papers in dismay and continued -... I can't take care of him, I can't take care of anyone- while she began to cry.

Before Kaitlynn could say anything else, Underhill said -well, then you tell me... What do you want us to do?- in a kind and conciliatory tone.

Wendy sighed and said - give it back to your mother... and your brother too - the agent answers - is that really what you want?... - Wendy nods and he continues - fine, no problem -

Then he brings the pen closer to his hand, Wendy takes it and puts her signature on the confidentiality agreement.

Agent Underhill takes it and says - fine, we'll let her rest - and the three of them leave the room without anything else to say.

Already in the hallway Kaitlynn says -I'm sorry sir, I overdid it...- he answers -you played a good "bad cop", but you must understand that less is more-

They make a short stop and Ullman says -I almost forgot... I think this is yours- and gives the tennis ball to Will, the boy just stared at them as they left.

Already in the hallway Underhill continues -do you remember that Hill House disaster a few decades ago?- she answers -you know very well that yes, I did my thesis on it... the thesis that you did not let me publish, by the way-

As they left the hospital the agent answers -with one call I can make you an astronaut if you want, that's not relevant... but what you don't know is that we had a check with several zeros ready for the grieving widow, but it wasn't necessary, she decided to stay there, it's always easier when they think they had a panic attack than to accept the truth... getting too involved only convinces them that something strange is going on-

She says -and so we save some bills- he puts a hand on her shoulder and says -we are the government dear, we will print more... the important thing is to draw as little attention as possible, but taking advantage of that you gave us a way to solve another little problem that just occurred, please get ready, tomorrow we fly to Italy-

Kaithlynn nods and then Underhill looks away at Ullman, who had remained calm and without speaking throughout their conversation and asks him -do you already have a replacement for Torrance for the rest of the winter?-

He nods and hands him a folder while mentioning -I already contacted him, in fact he was my first choice, but Shockley insisted too much, he is a failed illusionist, he only has one brother and he is on vacation, so it will be just him and his dog-

Underhill analyzes the resume and says -it seems to be just what we are looking for- while looking at a photograph of the new caretaker of the Overlook Hotel, Albert Shaw... "The Grabber"

And after this would follow the already very classic closing photo of the lobby, I decided that it would be redundant to write it, so I omitted it.

And that would be the end of this movie, but I still have a lot to express about what came to my mind with this saga.

Taking advantage of the fact that both are in Colorado and the dates coincide, I decided to answer the question: Why did the Grabber take so long to start killing? What was his (as they say in "criminal minds") "triggering event"?
