Tracker listened to the one sided conversation and knew that there must be another god he couldn't hear, and sat quietly.
"You were calling for Lan, just call me that. Who is he?" Yunlan asked.
"He was my love, my life, until he died and I've been on my own ever since hi ..."
A sudden surge of sharp pain hit Wei causing him to gasp while Track gripped his hand firmer and washed the sweat from his face, before his breathing was regular again.
"Wei, talk to me. What happened?.. Are you still there?" Yunlan asked as he heard him suffering and could do nothing to help except talk.
"I'm still here Lan. The pain gets worse and then drops just as fast, just.. keep talking to me... What do you do for a living?" He asked as he took some more shallow breaths.
"I'm a detective who started work in a new office recently. I don't even know what they do exactly but I like the way they seem to treat everyone. What about yourself, do you work for a living?... Wei ... Wei, talk to me. What do you do for a living?" Yunlan repeated when he didn't get an answer.
"I am a profiler for the police usually, but I took a rest and came to see this place, except I'm not in my world anymore, I'm in the homeworld. My friend Track is looking after me until the guards can find me, but I need help... "
Yunlan began to think that Wei was delirious when he spoke of another world and he feared for his life but never corrected anything he said, as he heard him becoming worse and tried to keep him talking.
"Wei what would you like to see most just now if you could?"
If Yunlan had been able, he would have seen a beautiful smile on Wei's face as he thought of an answer.
"That's a hard question to ask a dying man... Alright, I'll play this game. I would like to see my lover's fire burn in the rainbow of colours only he can produce, and look into his rich brown eyes with a hint of green in one of them from the Egyptian deity who keeps him safe. I would like to see the sun shine through a mosaic glass window while it casts its colours on everything around it. And I would like to meet my next companion, even if it was only for five minutes to let him know how deeply he will be loved... "
Tracker was listening and could see Wei becoming more and more tired as he spoke, but he had no way of talking to the other god and he wished that he could, until he spotted the orb. He would never have taken it from Wei but when he saw it glow, he placed it in Wei's free hand, hoping that it would have some kind of effect as he supported him.
"Wei ... Wei ... Can you hear me? Talk to me," Yunlan called.
Track wasn't exactly sure what had happened but the orb shined as bright as the sun after the other god had spoken and the cave was slightly different, with Yunlan's voice echoing around the stone walls, and the old tracker answered him.
"Hello ... This is Tracker. The other god has passed out again, I think he's only sleeping. He was shot in the chest by poachers and I took the bullet out from his back because it nearly went all the way through, but he's not doing so well. Could you come and take him home? I'm an animal carer, I'm not a doctor."
Yunlan was surprised by the other voice suddenly talking to him but very glad because now he could maybe find out where he was, and shouted for a servant to listen to his directions. Guard Li immediately returned and heard Yunlan repeat everything he was told and where the injured man could be found.
"I know he's a stranger but we can't leave him on a mountain to die just because we don't know him. Can you contact climbers, or someone to rescue him and take him to a hospital? He might be delirious because he was talking about a homeworld, but the tracker has given us better directions. Would it be possible?"
