Shen Wei was glad that today was over. He was exhausted and relieved that Neves and Guard Six were alive and well. Although technically Guard Six had died years ago, he was safe with his new host in Gelan's hospital. The Powers at Be would need to find a new caretaker for the Enigma room which might be difficult, but that was their problem. Wei was struggling to keep his eyes open and when he stretched to hang up his jacket he knocked something onto the floor and bent down to pick it up. Just a cardigan but there was a round stone which had fallen out of a pocket. It was old with carvings on one side but he was too tired to examine it now and placed it on the small table to study it tomorrow before he got into bed, and was asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow.

When Yunlan eventually managed to come home, he entered the room and walked over to the bedside to see Wei who looked calm as he slept, his worry lines were gone and he undressed and slipped into bed beside him. Neither of them saw the stone disc glowing in the dark as it cast a map on the ceiling of the room. They were so tired that they never opened their eyes all night, and when the light of the morning arrived, the disc had returned to normal.

Yunlan was awake first and glanced at Wei. He would never grow tired of watching him in his sleep, there was a serenity about him that pacified his mind and he resisted the urge to move his hair, otherwise he would awaken him.

He looked over at the time on the clock and noticed the round carved stone and brought it closer to examine it. He hadn't seen it before and wondered where it had come from and what the carvings meant. It reminded him of a sundial but it was too small to be of any use, maybe it was some other kind of dial, and he put the disc down before moving closer to Wei, waiting for him to open his eyes.

"Morning my love," Yunlan said as he moved the hair from Wei's brow and placed a soft kiss in its place.

"Ah Lan," and Wei stretched before he smiled and stared into Yunlan's eyes. It was the best he'd felt for a very long time, awakening without any problems.

"Let's take a break, a holiday. Only three or four days, could you take time off? Your boss is usually a very understanding person," he said in fun, because he was his boss.

Yunlan suddenly had a realisation, he didn't know who his boss was.

"I would love a small break away, but I don't know who my boss is, unless it's the minister we send our reports to."

Yunlan shocked himself. He been working in that department for a while, since Wei was shot and he never thought about asking. But Wei came up with a suggestion, while he still thought it was funny.

"Why don't you arrange with Chu to meet your boss for a coffee, an informal introduction. He can contact him and you can have a chat and ask for a few days off, do it today and then we can discuss where you would like to go."

Yunlan was nervous about this. He had been working all this time and never reported a case or spoken with him, but also had never faced a reprimand or hadn't been asked about missing work. Maybe this boss was one of the gifted people and already knew everything that was going on in the office.

"I'll maybe leave it for today and ask Chu tomorrow, but we can still think about where we would like to go, Xiao Wei."

Wei agreed but he had a feeling that Yunlan would find appropriate excuses to avoid meeting his mysterious boss. There was another small problem. Yunlan knew that Wei was a profiler but hadn't realised that they were in the same office. The subject had never been raised about where Wei worked, and he'd never been back since he'd been shot. So after they'd gone down to breakfast, Wei said that he was going back to work.
