Wei breathed in and felt nothing before he opened his eyes and found the caretaker sitting on the side of his bed.
"My Lord, you look pale. Don't move too fast, they are still working on you downstairs and it will have an effect on you here, but you will have no pain," and he helped Wei to sit up but on this occasion, the bed never disappeared while he was staying.
"Thank you, I am very tired but not sleepy. I don't want to go back until they have finished, I couldn't tolerate that pain. Is the Black Robe Spirit well, where is he?" Wei asked with concern because he hadn't spoken to him for several days.
"Come, I'll take you to him," and the caretaker took Wei by the arm and led him to another white bed where the black outline was lying down.
"When they are finished healing you, he will heal as well but a fraction slower." The caretaker explained.
Wei thought that the Spirit was asleep but he wasn't and if there was a face visible below the mask, Wei would have seen him smile.
"My Young Lord, it's not often you come to visit me when I'm unwell, how are you?"
"I look better than you Lord Black. I'm staying for a short time."
"Why don't you bring someone to keep you company if he's asleep?" The Spirit suggested, which shocked Wei. It was something that he'd never considered or thought was even possible, and stared at the caretaker who only smiled and nodded before he explained.
"Yes you can bring him if he's asleep, it's not against the rules because you will both be spirits. But there is one drawback, you can't tell him where to find you, nor him tell you, but if he wanted to see what they were doing in the med room he would be allowed to watch."
Wei thought he understood the rules behind the restrictions, but even so, this was a chance to meet Lan and he tried to sense him to see if he was asleep. He couldn't find him but he could feel Apep and took a chance, hoping that he had found his new owner and was on his arm.
Yunlan was asleep and had one of his strangest dreams ever. He had travelled to a place that was called a room but it didn't look like a room, and he was on a white bed. He sat up and swung his feet onto the floor which was under a thin layer of mist, therefore he couldn't see it but he could feel it underfoot. There were no walls or a roof but it was a room.
A young man approached who looked like an angel. He was perfect, pure pale skin and looked gentle, delicate in his white suit, and Yunlan glanced down at himself only now realising that he too was in white. Why did everything in this place need to be white? It was too dazzling so he wished it to be pale green, after all it was his dream, and everything changed colour. The angel swayed and Yunlan dived towards him to catch him before he would fall.
"Are you alright?" He asked as he looked into his deep dark eyes.
"I'm alright Ah Lan," Wei answered as he watched the confusion on Yunlan's face.
"It's partly my dream too, so stay and keep me company for a while. This is called the Enigma Room. The Black Robe Spirit can come here to rest when he has to, would you like to meet him?" Wei asked.
Yunlan was still under the impression that this was an elaborate dream and he agreed, following the angel as he led him towards the dark shape.
"My Lord Zhao, how nice to see you. Stay and keep my host company for a short spell while he's here and his body is receiving treatment."
