A/N: I will be writing the story in Author POV.

"I was this close." Gojo murmured, pinching her fingers together as if to emphasize the narrow margin. She sighed and decided to head to the hospital; even as she tried, she couldn’t bring herself to smile.

When she arrived at the hospital, her classmates were already gathered in the waiting area. They glanced up, their faces filled with concern, but Gojo brushed past them without much of a word, heading straight for Midoriya's room.

Inside, Denki was just opening the door, followed closely by Mineta, Todoroki, Iida, and a few others who trickled in with quiet footsteps, each person seeming to bear the weight of the recent events. The room's atmosphere was thick with unspoken sadness and frustration.

Mineta was holding a large Melon, offering it and holding it up in enthusiasm. A stark contrast to the current, unsaid, tragic atmosphere in the room.

Gojo glanced around and finally spotted Ochako standing by Midoriya's bed. She managed a weak wave. “Aki! Are you alright?” Ochako asked gently, her usual cheer dimmed.

“Yeah, not a scratch,” Gojo replied, though the expression on her face said otherwise. Even she couldn’t force a smile this time.

Tokoyami approached and bowed slightly. “I apologize for the trouble I caused in the forest.”

Midoriya, sitting up in bed, looked around, his face etched with worry. “Is everyone here? Is everyone alright?”

Iida nodded, though his gaze dropped. “No… Jiro and Hagakure are still unconscious from the gas, and Yaoyorozu is still hospitalized with a head injury.”

“Sixteen of us are here, though,” Uraraka added softly.

“Yeah,” Todoroki added, his tone grim. “Except Bakugou.”

Mina shot Todoroki a look. “Come on, Todoroki, you didn’t have to say it.”

Gojo lowered her gaze. She felt her throat tighten as she spoke, each word carefully measured. “Everyone…I was so close to saving him. I got there, but I…froze. I know it sounds like an excuse, but I thought I could handle it. I’ll explain everything…when I’m ready.”

Kirishima’s voice broke the silence, his usual optimism showing in the determination in his eyes. “Then let’s go save him this time.”

Everyone turned to look at him, surprise flashing across their faces. Kirishima shifted awkwardly, then took a breath. “Todoroki and I… we were here yesterday. Yaoyorozu managed to place a tracker on a Nomu. She gave one to All Might and Detective Tsukauchi, but All Might shut us down. He said we couldn’t go ourselves.”

He cast a glance at Iida, who had been strongly opposed to any of them going, and his gaze softened. “I didn’t do anything back there to help Bakugou. He’s my friend, and if I get a chance to help him now, I have to try.I can’t just stand by.”

"I don't care what is wrong or right. Gojo’s eyes met Kirishima’s, her unusually cold stare carrying an unspoken respect. “Then count me in. Text me when and where to meet, and I’m there.”

“Gojo-san,” Iida began, the weight of worry evident in his voice, “you don’t have to blame yourself for what happened. You did what you could.”

Gojo gave a small, almost imperceptible nod. “Only if I’d been faster…” she muttered, before leaving.

Gojo was just leaving the hospital and she spotted Aizawa-sensei there.

"Aizawa-sensei" She said.

"Go ahead." He replied.

"You said that I was not a weapon or a tool. That made me really happy." I gave a small smile.
