The phone buzzed once before Akira picked up and lazily attached it to her ear. "Moshi moshi~," she murmured, her voice thick with sleep.
"Were you sleeping?" Shoto asked in a gentle tone.
"No, I just woke up," Akira admitted with a small yawn.
Shoto chuckled softly. "I figured. It’s a holiday, after all. You probably stayed up late."
"Eh he he~ You know me too well," she replied, a sheepish grin evident even through the phone.
"Of course I do," he said. "Anyway, get moving. We’re meeting at 10 a.m. There’s a park in front of your apartment, right? I’ll pick you up there."
"Yeah, sure. Arigato ne~," Akira replied cheerfully, already sitting up.
"Hai. See you soon. Bye."
"Bye!"
Call ends.
*Squeals*
"I hope my all mornings start like this." Akira mumbled in sleep. "Wait, WHAT THE HELL!" She slapped her cheeks with both hands. "
Akira picked up her phone again to check the time. It was only 7 a.m. She sighed, placing it back on her nightstand. “Guess he’s more excited than I am,” she muttered, stretching before getting up.
After freshening up and eating a light breakfast, Akira made her way to her closet. She hesitated before picking out a cute dress she’d never worn before—and honestly, never planned to wear. But the words of her friends from yesterday echoed in her head, leaving her no choice.
The dress was a soft pale white color, with thin pear straps that reached mid-thigh. She reluctantly put it on and stood in front of the mirror, frowning at her reflection.
“It’s too short,” she mumbled, tugging at the hem. “And the whole thing depends on two flimsy strings holding it up.”
She threw on a pink cropped shrug, crossing her arms in satisfaction. “Good thing I’m wearing this. No way am I going out in just this dress.”
As she twirled in front of the mirror, she caught herself whispering, “Will Shoto like this?”
Her face turned crimson at the realization of her own thoughts. "WHAT THE HELL, SHOTO TODOROKI?!" she screamed, burying her face in her hands.
After calming down, she moved to her vanity, realizing she hadn’t done her hair yet. She picked up a brush and tried different styles, but nothing felt right.
“I can’t do this,” she groaned, finally deciding to leave her hair down. “I’ll just keep it simple.”
Just as she was adjusting the last strand of her hair, the doorbell rang.
“Huh? It’s only 9 a.m. Did he come early?” Akira panicked, darting to the door. She opened it with a mix of surprise and nervousness.
“Shoto?” she asked hesitantly.
“Seems like you’re desperately waiting,” a teasing voice replied.
“Teacup?!” Akira exclaimed, stepping back to let her in. “Stop teasing me.”
Teacup, grinning mischievously, walked inside.
"Wahh you look beautiful!" Teacup exclaimed.
"Aye~ Arigato." Akira said as she rubbed her neck. "I have some chocolate cake wanna eat?" Akira asked her.
"Yes!" She chimmed but then stopped. "You won't ask me why I am here?"
"Do I need a reason for you to be here. You can come whenever you want to." Akira said.
