CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Love

I love her.

My heart beat faster.

I love Shreya.

I wasn't even sure if she loved me yet, but I knew that she cared for me deeply. My only wish was that I could show her how much she meant to me.

She yawned.

Maybe not now.

When she caught me looking, her eyes panicked, "Sorry."

I chuckled and kissed her cheek gently. "No, I'm sorry for keeping you up so late. See you tomorrow? Or wait, when's your work?"

"Tomorrow. Well, today. I start around noon."

"Do you want to go out after work?"

"Do you mind if we just stayed at home and eat? I want to rest after."

"Of course. What if I cook for you? I'll make you something special?"

"Won't you be tired?" she asked.

"No, I only have a half day tomorrow."

"Okay, but I'll help you with the cleaning."

"No. I'll do that too."

She was about to complain, when I said, "You can just stare at this handsomeness instead."

She scoffed.

"You haven't seen me cooked before, right? I bet you, I can make you swoon."

She just shook her head and said, "I think the tiredness has caught up with you. You need to go home." She opened her apartment door and pulled me out.

As we walked and waited for the elevator, I said, "I'm not tired. I just think you'll swoon when you see me roll up my sleeves and tense my muscles as I chop."

She shook her head and entered the elevator.

After we were both in and it went down, I said "You don't think so?"

"No," she said looking at me exasperatedly.

"What if you see my beautiful eyes looking so focused on making a delicious meal for you?" I said staring at her eyes.

Her scrunched-up eyebrows straightened. Her staring eyes turned to gazing softly at mine. Her lips smiled sweetly at me. I was saying all that to tease her a little, but she was making it hard to breathe.

When the elevator door opened, her eyes widen and she sprinted out.

She had her back facing me, but I could see her right hand was raised near her face. I bet she was fanning herself.

I walked in front of her and fanned the other side.

"You like making me flustered, don't you?" she

"Yes, but it kind of backfired on me," I said, taking in a shaky breath as I remembered how she looked at me.

"That's what you get," she said smugly while fanning the side of my face with her right hand.

I chuckled and kissed her cheek, "Thank you."

"What for?"

"For being with me and for being you."

She hugged me, "Thank you to you too, then."

My heart bloomed as I hugged her back. I really love her.

The next morning before work, I brought all the ingredients I need and dropped it at her place.
