Ev POV -

I wasn't surprised the morning after the Gala when I saw the headlines.

Is the Giants New Beginning actually a new ending?

Infamous new holder Everette 'Green' O'Brian has no claim to Giants

Andrew Garcia Caviro and Everette 'Green' O'Brian on bad terms?

There was no question that Drew and I knew each other before all of this. The new question was how we knew each other. Louis Stone was digging deeper and his newest article revealed that we went to school together. It said nothing about our relationship and mostly delved on the events of the Gala. But it was only a matter of time before the entire truth got out.

I spent the morning making calls and trying to keep my relationship with Drew in the past where it should stay.

I wasn't embarrassed to have been in n a relationship with a guy. I had been in multiple relationships with guys. The problem with this one is the fact that I don't want random strangers scrutinizing this one.

By 8 o'clock I had done all the damage control I could do in one day. I had warned Mom and Lily on the off chance that they were contacted and Kruz already new what to say. 'I don't know' and 'Talk to my lawyer'.

This was also around the time Drew knocked on my office door looking like a dog with its tail between its legs.

I didn't want to be angry. It was years ago But something in me could not let me forgive him. Not yet.

"Hey," he greeted quietly. I pretended I couldn't hear him, which was immature but, I was feeling immature and if he wanted to play stupid games like keeping secrets, he could win his stupid prize.

"You're still upset with me huh?" Silence. I noticed he was holding a bouque of flowers in his right hand. I don't know much about flowers but I know I saw pink roses, the tiny white flowers, and yellow sunflowers.

"Flowers are not going to make me forgive you." I huffed and turned my attention from him to a screen.

"This might be a major blow to your ego, but they're not for you. I actually came here to take you on a little field trip."

"Where? And why should I go?"

"Where is a surprise and the answer to why is that you like surprises and I think this is something you need to see."

My interest was peaked and I did like surprises. I looked at the clock and saw the market would close soon and wanted to see where this random trip was going to take us.

"Fine. Let's go. But I'm driving."

He shrugged and we went downstairs to the underground parking lot for my car. We got in and he showed me the address on his phone. I didn't recognize the street but I knew the area. It was a nice part of the city. Nothing fancy but definitely not cheap.

This drive was probably the most awkward silent drive that I had ever had. I didn't speak and he didn't want to start a conversation. I was not going to look enjoy this if all we were going to do is try not to stare awkwardly at eachother or make basic conversation no one wanted to have.

Pulling up to the front, it looked like a mansion. It had clay roofing and plaster walls. It was no taller than two stories but stretched far across the mostly empty area. The place was farther into the rural part of New York than I had first realised. There were more trees than houses at that point making the atmosphere have a calm feel.
